The only thing I would stress is the value of reading both the SWAPPING ETIQUETTE and the SWAPPING GUIDELINES before posting any new swap. These guidelines provide valuable information for both swap organizers & participants and ultimately save everyone needless confusion and/or frustration.

does anybody remember the museum of craft folder??? guess not.

VINTAGE = RETRO

The Museum of Craft is described as a folder in which to "scan and post kitschy projects from your vintage craft books".

Perhaps people wish to have a thread in which to post non-kitschy items?
Perhaps the object they'd like to post is not a craft from a book, but is an original design?

As for museums in general?

Would this be a thread dedicated to retro crafts i.e. macrame, tatting... whatever or are you proposing a thread that features crafts that celebrate all things retro? For instance, objects that use retro design elements or imagery..etc. Or both? I'm interested in both but am out of the loop in terms of this discussion soooo......

And speaking of silicon glue, has anybody else seen this thread about the problem with the silicon glue yellowing after about one year?

Has anyone else encountered this problem? I'd really like to know. (I've sold quite a few of them and when I read this ... well... YIKES!!!!) 

I haven't had any complaints so far but I'm just wondering if there is something else that is a little less toxic and a lot less likely to turn the "dreaded yellow"?

I gave away (and sold) a ton of those microscope slide pendants at Christmas last year! They were a huge hit... thank you,once again ... CraftyChicaAZ! I just glued the eyehooks in between two sheets of paper (the images for the pendant) with a glue stick! (It held 'em just fine) I used two microcope slides (a slide "sandwich") and held the whole thing together with faux "chrome" tape from an auto supply store. I used the handle of a wooden spoon to burnish the tape along the top and sides of the "slide sandwich". (Someone told me that wooden spoon thing was a trick stained glass workers use with copper tape...) It worked a treat! 

(p.s. You can buy tools for safely cutting glass quite cheaply. Especially if you only want to cut very small, flat pieces of glass. Just visit a stained glass or arts'n'crafts supply store or do a google search.) 

Wow! I also <3 dingbats!  Yep. Fontographer is a monster piece of software with a monster price tag. I'm definitely not at that stage yet. People like Ray Larabie (yay! another Canuck!) and Luc Devroye recommend starting with entry-level software such as ScanFont or High Logic's Font Creation programme. Guess I will simply have to start saving my pennies and hope that our currency (CDN$) improves a little more...

As it turns out ...ahem... the software I received is part of a "bundle". It was a gift and I didn't actually get the font-making gear which is a programme called ScanFont. Sigh. Back to the drawing board...

Unless anyone knows how to make fonts in PhotoShop 7?  (I've heard it can be done but have no idea how.)

Hey FunkyOlive! This is just an idea for artistamps or stickers to put on envies when people are sending out mailart. You can use a different design, a different slogan (i.e. it doesn't have to say "mail art mob") ... anything at all!
