Here is my first ever contest entry! The last time I was at ikea, I lugged around 9 catalogues to make into wall art. I take each page and fold in the corner to the center, then turn the page, and fold the other corner to the center to make a triangle. Once all the pages are folded into triangles they look like this! 3-D wall art! Hope you like it
umm.. worse comes to worse and you can't think of anything to reuse your nylons for.. you could always pull a bank job!! NOO im kidding of course.. ummm how about braiding tons of them together to make a big chunky necklace/scarf ?
I am actually making some wall art/wall portfolios with them to put my mail and bills in- I cut both of the sides apart cut a crescent shape from the top just so you can reach inside, cut a pizza-shape wedge out of the bottom so that it gives it some dimension and then tape it back together with the tape on the inside so it looks nice, and then i'm going to hot glue some binding you can buy prepackaged at the store around it to make it finished! I'm pretty excited about it, I'll post a picture when they are all hung up
I learned a cool trick, if you like to sew, you can heat up the soda cans over a fire so that they become more malliable (spelling?? haha) and then once they are soft and they have cooled down you can sew them onto things- kind of fun to embellish stuffffff
i love the concept of reconstruction, and i think your project is great, looks like a sweatshirt straight out of urban outfitters. it makes me want to go to savers and buy tons of old shirts and turn them into something new to wear.
