1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Epi-pen case on: February 10, 2013 04:08:47 PM
Lovely idea!  I currently just toss my epi-pen into my bag and hope that I can tell someone it's in there if I need to!
I'd probably do that if I carried a bag.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Epi-pen case on: February 09, 2013 06:48:55 PM
After an exhaustive search for a tutorial to make an emergency allergy anaphylaxis kit and coming up dry, I designed my own. It features a main pouch that will hold 2 Epi-pens, a couple doses of Benadryl in a zip pocket (I'm going to put in a couple diphenhydramine Unisom fast melts), an emergency plan sheet behind the Benadryl and a little clear pocket for emergency contact info. I hope someone can use this to make their own case. They're pretty expensive to buy and I was able to make this from stuff I had on hand. Sorry a couple lengths are in inches, but the rest is in cm.

3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap 17 (Signups until Jan 15) (Send by Feb 9) on: January 07, 2009 02:05:13 AM
I think I might join this round.  I have done this a few times and  I was wondering when did DC numbers start being required?

Aren't they required for all US swaps? I can't remember now lol

Yes, they are required for all US swaps except I think paper swaps if the package is too thin.
When I'm sending something that would be too think to qualify for DCN, I put a packing peanut in the envelope so it will be unevenly thick.  I actually had someone at the post office tell me to make the envelope thicker.  It doesn't add any extra weight to your envelope, but you get the benefit of DCN.  Besides, it's a good way to reuse something that's difficult to recycle.  Wink

Here are (most of) the awesome shrinkies we got from chilledsoup.  We love them so much!  DD "stole" her two favorites for her skeleton hand glass as shown in the first pic.  There is one that isn't pictured that has a cool flower on it's forehead.  I was having camera difficulties and some of them were so glared that you couldn't see them.  The pictures I took really don't do them justice.  Thanks chilledsoup!!   Grin

I received today and I'll post pics later.  My shrinkies are so cute!!  DD loves them, too and she nabbed two of them for her little skeleton hand glass.  Thank you, thank you!!

I received from ultconsumer yesterday!  She already put up pictures in the gallery, so I guess I won't put up another one, but I am absolutely thrilled!  They are in no way too dorky, as she worried they might be!  They are exactly as dorky as I hoped and dreamed they'd be Grin!  Thanks so much!
I'm so glad you liked them.  I guess I was having a little swap anxiety.   Cheesy

Here are the ones I made for my DD.  She liked them best because they are blue.  I did DDs first as a dry run before doing the actual swap ones.

If your package is too small or thin to qualify for a DCN, please make sure you get a receipt for the swap package (in case something goes wrong...) Smiley

I'm planning on either using a padded envelope or wrapping the finished item in bubble wrap before mailing it Cheesy
I just used a personal letter size envelope.  If your envelope is rigid or unevenly thick, you can get delivery confirmation.  I also make sure that part of it is at least 3/4" thick.  I also sell patterns and I always have to put a packing peanut in the envelope to meet the criteria for delivery confirmation.  I've forgotten before and they charged the recipient for priority.   Roll Eyes  (not that she got priority handling.)
