i really don't think its a problem w/ knitting during church, - if your church is a relatively casual one. i would nevernevernever knit in a catholic church, for example.

Yeah, it depends heavily on the atmosphere.  I'm Catholic, and there's no way I'd knit in my family's parish.  But there's an ultra-progressive church I go to downtown that's so friendly and laidback, I can't see them having a problem with someone knitting during mass.

Thanks for your input, everybody!  Sounds like either baby alpaca or an alpaca blend are very nice.  Blue Sky Alapacas are dreamy, but out of my price range for a whole sweater.  I think I'll go with the Elann, their colors always make me drool.

I have never knit with alpaca, but I hear that it's significantly warmer than wool.  Thus, would it be logical to knit a fall/winter sweater out of 100% alpaca, or would it be a total sauna?

You decided it is time to scrub the bathtub, not because you mind taking a shower in a dirty tub, but because you don't have a washer and think the tub would be a good place to dye fabric yardage.

Ah, me too.  If I ever decide to wash the sink or bathtub, it's a pretty good sign that I'm going to be dyeing or fulling something.

I feel like all of the best art cars have things coming out of them.  If you got your hands on some gory Halloween masks, it would be cool to have heads coming out of the roof or sides.
