1  Porky's Second Lifetime in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: November 27, 2007 08:05:14 AM
Last Friday my older brother got home late, carrying a hudge plush Pig under his arm. He told the story of Porky, who was trown out of a flat (by an adult) Friday morning before 8 and was still laying outside on the grass at 5PM. My brother was in shock how could anybody simply trow out a plush that was still in okay shape? So he took him home.

I washed him twice by hand (didn't fit in the machine) and let Porky dry for days.

Yesterday evening I fixed him up.

Porky Before

Porky After

(The human in the photo's that's my older brother, still single ladies Wink)

What I did to Porky?
- washed him
- fixed the 4 small holes
- extra stuffing
- new snout & nose-holes

I plan on giving Porky a saddle/deck later but for now he already looks much better. Tomorrow morning my baby brother Ben (4) is going to find him "eating" the carrot in his shoe (who he puts down every other night in the hope Sinterklaas, the dutch santa, put something in it).  Grin Poor stepdad has to eat half of the carrot.  Cheesy

I'm pretty sure Porky will spend his remaining years with us. Being cuddled to death.

2  Amigurami bear in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: August 12, 2007 11:24:59 AM
I crocheted a bear (from a pattern out of amigurami vol. 1 book), and gave it some special flair. I gave it hair instead of a hat, a fuzzy scarf, and a nose instead of a snout.  Cheesy Took me 5 days to make him.

It's aproximatly 25cm high and everything but the eyes and the face-expession is crocheted!

3  Tiny tiny turtle in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: July 19, 2007 02:09:57 AM
I needed a break from my snake (a w.i.p.), so I decited to make a turtle following the pattern out of amigurami vol 5. Well, I did ajust it quite a bit because 1) I don't speak/understand Japanese and 2) If I can make it a 5 pieces to assembly instead of 6 I'm happier.

I got some new yarn to work with, and even though I used my G hook (4.25mm) it's tiny!

Took me about 1 and a half hours (I crochet very slow).

4  Not as simple as just 1+1=2! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: July 08, 2007 08:35:02 AM
My machine was being a total pain. Next to eating my tread it decited to totally jam beause a neelde broke halfway making the second bearboat.   It took me 20 minutes to get my fabric back and get it operating again. I needed to reset the computer of the machine, and that totally sucks!

So excuse the fact the second boat is a little diffrent then the one I showed you all earlier. It's perhaps even more messy even though I tried to fix it to my best knowledge. I blame the machine.

Both boats with their permanent inhabinents! Yes all those toys fit in just fine

Boat 2, made from scaps and old pants from my mother.

The boats together.

5  Frog sisters in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: July 05, 2007 07:59:18 AM
Meet the frog sisters. Compeletly machinesewn except I put the head on the body by hand. Their feathery scarfs are just twisted around their necks. Faces and spots are made by permanent paint markers. Kid save trow/play toys since they are filled with both plastic beads aswell as polyester stuffing. Machine washable, so the mom will be happy too  Wink Made to go in the bearboat. They are based on a McCall's pattern.

6  Scruffy McDoodle in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: July 03, 2007 11:26:20 AM
Meet Scruffy McDoodle who was made for a personal swap (no worries she has already seen and aproved him).

He's a pirate dog based on a McCalls Craft pattern. Awwrrrr.

He's 90% machinesewn and 10% handsewn (details, face to body, ears to face). He's filled with plastic beads aswell as polyester stuffing so he's machine washable and poseable. He's the first I've sewn mainly by machine, so I'm very proud of myself.

Yes he lost that eye during the war with the English cats. lol.

I love him, it will be hard to let him go but I know he'll get a great hom!

7  Octo in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: June 29, 2007 05:47:01 AM
Octo is crocheted but because he's going to be a plaything/toy for a young boy I put him here.

Octo is about 5/6cm high and the same width. He has only 6 legs because I found 8 overwelming looking.

He stole my favourite crochet hook  Shocked

Octo took over my laptop!

Cute little flower (sequin) on his head.

8  The Bearboat! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yvonnevantpadje on: June 27, 2007 11:17:24 AM
With pride I present you the first bearboat (a second identical one for the other twin shall be made soon) and it's first inhabitents (sp?).

It has zippers in the roof so you can put the animals (and other things) in it!

It's aprox. 60cm long en 50cm high. (ps.: 2,5cm = 1 inch)

The tictac-candybox is there for size comparation only!

The boat is 95% machine work, the toy animals are completely handsewn. I'm still in the progress of making more animals/dolls for the boat but I'm so proud of my boat I wanted to show it off!
