41  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 18 - GALLERY! on: February 17, 2014 08:43:29 AM
We had brunch last week at a local place called "The Golden Bear" and they have teddy bears and bear themed decor all over, so Willow snuck in a quick shot. (He was afraid to pose too much lest they try and keep him!  Cheesy )

My monitor completely died with a loud POP! this morning and my replacement won't be here until Tuesday. (Darn mail holiday on Monday!!) So just a head's up I'll likely be scarce until I get my new one.  Cry

Unfortunately, I also can't sort through my pics on my hard drive for printing until I get it back either (it's hard to see pics without a screen!) but I do have supplies for the scrapbook itself ready for when I can get them printed.

I finished up luckdragon's anthropologie necklace and it came out really great. Was one of those seemingly simple pieces that wound up taking a lot of work and new tools to get it done. LOL But I think it looks pretty darn good so it's going out in the mail.

I also happened to be skimming the lists when I saw Watsonc7's request for a tree by name Grin so I couldn't resist! I've updated my list a bit since last round (mainly due to adding a few things FROM last round. LOL)

My awesome package from smashu arrived the other day but I haven't been home the last two days to get photos. FINALLY I can share the awesomeness of what she made for me: A pair of Marty McFly and Doc Brown (from Back to the Future) art dolls!

Both of them together:

Doc in his radiation suit. His little pens come out of his pocket. Even has the symbol on the back:

Marty in his "life preserver" vest and Nike's!

With one of my (many) copies of BttF for sense of size/scale:

They're truly awesome. It's one of those things I've had on a dream wishlist for years just as a whim. I had never seen anyone make Marty and Doc into cutie plush before so I knew what I wanted, but I didn't have any inspiration to provide. But she made something really unique and totally one-of-a-kind. Extremely well made too. They just make me smile.

Thank you, smashu!! Grin

Claiming Watsonc7 for I would LOVE a PhoenixFireDesigns full moon tree of life pendant.  I really like the dark aqua moon with brown (or gunmetal?) wire yeeee!  . DONE! Grin

Claim #2 overall / 1 outstanding / 1 in transit / 0 received

About Me
36 year old woman who lives in Florida (USA) with my guy and three cats.

  • My favorite colors are jewel tones (like amethyst purple, emerald green, ruby red, sapphire blue, turquoise, and amber) or earth tones (like greens/browns together).
  • My favorite color combination is a deep teal blue and chocolate brown together. It makes me happy.
  • My favorite colors for shirts/clothes are browns, greens, purples, and both heather and charcoal greys.
  • I also love things that go along with my "PhoenixFire" theme like reds/oranges/yellows together
  • I like silver but not really gold. (Copper's ok too.)
  • My favorite animals are cats, owls, penguins, bats and red foxes.
  • My favorite flower is the Daffodil.
  • I love nature and trees
  • My favorite movie is Back to the Future
  • My favorite hobbies include: reading, photography and I love all things Disney!

I suffer from migraines so please NOTHING musk/amber/patchouli/dragon's blood or floral scented. Unless it smells like you can eat it, it will give me a migraine. I LOVE fruit and dessert scents greatly though. Also, please no bar soaps (skin is sensitive to glycerin) and nothing with artificial sweeteners like NutraSweet (aspartame) or Splenda (sucralose) as I'm allergic to both.

 Grin = big wish

Embellished Clothing
INFO FOR ALL TEES: Fitted styles only please! (i.e. not the boxy unisex style) If Misses, size small. If Jr's size medium. I like jewel tones for shirts (emerald green, amethyst purple, turquoise, aqua) plus browns and greys best. Short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve or long sleeve fine. Scoop or V-neck best (but not so low I have to wear another shirt under it please!) I like Target's Mossimo shirts a lot but other brands are good too. ANY OF MY LIKES/THEMES ARE GREAT SOURCES OF INSPIRATION!

>  Grin Decorated/Screnprinted/Stenciled/Bleach Pen/Embroidered Fitted T-Shirts Could be in many styles/colors based on my likes or shirt inspiration.
>  Grin Batik/Dyed/Ombre/ "Shibori-Dyed" Fitted Tee Shirts Could be in many styles/colors based on my likes or shirt inspiration.
>  Grin Galaxy Shirt! I love this. I think either black tee, dark navy blue or dark purple tee is best for the base shirt color. I can't be around bleach (allergic to the vapors) so I can't make this for myself but I'd love someone to make one for me!!
> Bleach Pen Tees Could be in many styles/colors based on my likes or shirt inspiration.
> Embroidered Shirt I really like this idea. Doesn't have to be exact but I think that's a great place to start. Maybe flowers, trees, branches, etc.? Front back, both - I just like this idea a lot.

So if I could get some giftcards for them, I could combine them and make another big order and save a lot of money vs buying one thing here and there.
> Cuttlebug/Sizzix/Sepllbinders embossing folders or dies for cutting! I have a Cuttlebug but can use just about any brand. I've got some favorites listed HERE. Used is fine!
> Glue Gun Holder This is genius. If you're crafty with wood, you could probably easily make it too.
> Gift Certificate to Amazon I know that sounds weird but I buy a lot of crafty supplies there; things I either can't find locally or I can get cheaper.

> Postcard Stamp I think this idea is super fun!
> Earring Findings I could use some fancier sterling and/or gold (plate/vermeil) ones, especially chandelier style like this or this or this or this or this, etc.
> Button Maker I think it'd be fun to make my own buttons. Some sort of starter kit would be great. I've never made any before. Can totally be used/pre-owned!
> Metal stamping blanks for making stamped pendants.
> 14k Gold Fill Round Wire I could use 16 or 18 gauge DEAD SOFT or 24 gauge or 26 gauge DEAD SOFT. Example search on etsy.
> Inkless metal pen (In silver) This is weird but cool!
> Monin Blackberry Syrup I had this yummy blackberry iced tea at Chili's and this is what they use. I think you can find it at bar/restaurant supply stores too?

> Pineapple anything so long as it does NOT have coconut in it. (Candy, snacks, candles, body spray, etc.) Finding pure, straight pineapple is so hard!
> Beading/Wire-Wrapping/Jewelry magazines (esp ones with projects/tutorials)
> Candies! (whatever neat little treats you enjoy, send 'em my way. I love candy)
> Chocolate! (white, milk or dark) No coconut or coffee flavors please.

Thanks in advance to whomever picks me! Grin

So Florida is weird. We don't have normal seasons like everyone else. Like, we skip over Autumn entirely. Leaves don't change colors here and we don't have the kind of trees that drop their leaves in Fall either.

BUT...the Southern Oaks here shed their leaves in February! So this is the time of year when we have tons of little oaks leaves all over the darn place.

It's only just started. It will get MUCH worse. Then, after the leaves had fallen, the oaks will start their yearly Death by Pollen tradition and everyone will get stuffy noses and red/itchy eyes for awhile. Heh. So this is our combination Autumn/Spring sorta season unique to Florida!
