3491  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Halloween Swap 2008 (Signups Aug 28th - Sept 12th / SEND Oct 4th) on: August 28, 2008 04:47:44 PM
if it adds up to the same amount, would you be cool with that, or would you prefer to stick with the 2 medium and 2 small?
Sure, I don't mind. I want the swap to fit people's needs. (The only reason I picked 2/2 was because in the discussion, most people said they weren't as comfortable having a large in the requirement. But no, I don't mind! Grin

-Small/1 point = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks, magnets

By Price
-Big/3 points = $30 or more

3495  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Halloween swap on: August 27, 2008 02:23:06 PM
I'm still willing to give Organizing a shot if everyone's interested.

How about 2 mediums and 1 small instead then? Just because more Halloween items = more fun. And I can understand the reluctance to take on a large. It can be daunting. But a couple mediums should be easy to do, wouldn't you say?

Let me know and I'll get the sign-up started! Grin
3496  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap R2 (FOCR R2) Shades of Blue Gallery on: August 26, 2008 05:03:39 PM
Huge apologies to bhean for the delay in posting. I received Friday night but I've been so busy with training for my new job, this was the first chance I've had to get the pictures off my camera, formatted and uploaded.

I received the illuminated drawing! It's really quite impressive. She sent it in a mat and within a plastic bag to ensure the gold leaf doesn't peel up. Unfortunately, this makes for a terrible reflective surface and an awful photographing experience. I didn't want to take it out and risk loosing any of the leafing (it's delicate) just for the pic, so please excuse the awful photo:

I like though that you could see the gold leaf really well in this one so I'm posting it despite having a horrible flash reflection.

It's such a unique item. Thank you, bhean!

Those are super cute!

I also received -  animegirlie claimed me for Disney stuff - and sadly, this is my first chance to get the pics off my camera. I actually received Friday, so bad me.  Embarrassed

There were all kinds of goodies. Notepads, a Disney Online pen (with a spaceship that floats up and down inside), PotC stickers, buttons, a hysterical Disneyland's California Adventure postcard of a bear that's actually fuzzy, the hardcover book Disney Yearbook 2005 (the first and only year they made it) and even a handmade choker.

Thanks for the super fun package! It's neat getting Left Coast Disney stuff since I've never been out that way. WDW is my second home but it's always neat to see the other side as well. Grin

3499  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Giant Multi-Theme Swap Gallery on: August 26, 2008 01:43:55 PM
Round one has taken 6 months now, with waiting on angel packages - and I don't know who is up for organizing another round! It was a great swap but is a really long term commitment, especially for organizers. If anyone wants to take it on, go for it!

I think there was another smaller version similar to this that would be great to see more often where people gave several choices of a theme and then the sender picked one of the 5 instead of crafting for all 5 themes. Anyone know what that one was called? I am having a dementia moment...

I don't know which one that is but I think if we did another round, smaller probably would be easier. Like five themes and craft ONE item per theme. (Maybe 5 mediums total.) Or, like list five themes but you only craft for three of them or something. It was quite the undertaking. I mean, I had fun, but I know with the flakers and then needing angels to pick up one each of the five themes - whew. A TON of work. I think the poor organizers this time around - especially Ronda S who's been just a doll handling all this extra work! - deserve a HUGE pat on the back. Grin

Good first try! Keep at it, I've gotten so much better at them (from when I first started) by simply making so many and getting comfortable with the process and the "feel" of it, you know?  Grin
