Last Sunday we tried to meet Adrian Paul from Highlander. Drove an hour out to Lakeland convention center and....he had already left for the day! Turns out, the "convention" was like 5 people standing around, six vendor tables and an event organizer who decided he wasn't able to pay the workers NOR the celebrity guests! D'oh! So..no convention photos.

Instead, we wound up wandering around the outlet mall instead. Saw a GIANT leather bear in the Coach store. My husband said it looked like a fetish bear. LOL

Few days ago we finally had a chance to go Christmas tree shopping. Though as of this writing we still haven't had time to decorate it yet!

Alby and Splash found LV sized tree but we couldn't bring it home  Cheesy

Last night I had a show at Great Explorations Hands On Children's Museum. I was in a playroom decorated like a farm. LOL

Tomorrow and Sunday we have a show down in Sarasota. It's a little over an hour south of me. It's technically outside of the Tampa Bay Area because we have to cross the (infamous) Sunshine Skyway across Tampa Bay to get there.

Another Saturday, another show! I have eight weeks back-to-back worth so it's a busy time for me. Today was what is normally my best show of the year. Unfortunately, it just wasn't anywhere near the crowds nor the sales I had hoped for based on the past two years.

So Alby and Splash took some time out to check out the historic Shuffleboard Courts! According to their website, Founded in 1924, the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is the oldest and largest shuffleboard club in the world.

I had another show this weekend. Same location as last time so didn't get any new pics taken. I DID get interviewed by a local news channel. My LV's aren't in the clip but if you want to see me briefly in action, I put it on youtube: https://youtu.be/rZBV7iH2LbY

Alby and Splash DID get to hang out with my friend's new kittens the other day! They are SO tiny! She has two of them - a pair of calico sisters - but the other was hiding under the couch so I only got pics with one. Still though, KITTEN!! Grin

Yesterday, I was up at my Mom's house and we baked two pumpkin pies. Alby & Splash oversaw the process...

...and enjoyed seeing the yummy, finished results!

Today, I had to run over to the local mall so Alby and Splash got to see our indoor ice skating rink - something that always amuses me being in a FLORIDA mall. They had displays of painted dolphins up so we stopped for a pic with them and the rink in the background.

We also checked out the brand new ThinkGeek store that just opened today! They had a life-sized Iron Man in the entryway:

Tonight, we're working on turkey prep for tomorrow. It's just my husband and I so we're just making a small breast-only turkey but we'll also do all the fixin's too! Grin

Alby & Splash came along with me to my show on Saturday. They were both good helpers! The festival takes place in a large park right in the heart of Downtown St. Pete. It was a beautiful day! Weather was just wonderful.

Alby tried on an ugly Christmas sweater to get in the seasonal mood for my booth:

Splash, on the other hand, found sweaters didn't fit her too well. Must be the shell.

The festival went until sunset, so we had to break down in the dark. It might be hard to see, but here are Alby and Splash sitting next to the lantern as I wait for my husband to drive the suv back over for us to load up.

We didn't have a lot of chance to wander around and see the rest of the show since I had to man my booth but they enjoyed the activity and the nice day spent out at the park, taking in the sights!

One thing I found is in international swaps, both weight of the box AND size of the box matter. So I try to do smaller scrapbooks. I did a 12x12 one time and it meant I needed a 15" box and that made the price jump up a LOT because it was over 12" per side.

Also, another suggestion that can help cut down on postage is to do an online order for a photobook from somewhere like Shutterfly and just have THEM mail it direct to your partner for you. Makes for a smaller/lighter box going back.

Postage is always a problem though with international swaps. I ship a lot of international packages because of my shop so I'm unfortunately very familiar with how much it can be. (It costs like a minimum of nearly $13 just to mail one of my trees overseas for example!) Cry I try to keep size and weight of souvenirs in mind when I have an international partner.

waterbaby - looks like much fun was had! And the west coast palms are impressive. Or maybe just similar. But you know, still impressive! Cheesy

Meanwhile, Splash arrived today! It was a weirdly overcast and non sunny day here but she did get a quick pic with a palm tree next to my apartment complex to prove she really is here! Wink

Hopefully, there will be sunny days soon. Plus, we have another huge show this Saturday so I get TWO helpers this weekend!

@ waterbaby - I totally get it. It's nearly impossible to get a LV pic with my cats. Gracie tends to not want to be bothered with it and Ginger tries to bite any LV she encounters! LOL

@seeuudee - Mwhahaha that pic of Clara in your bag is hysterical!

Still waiting for Splash to arrive from the UK, so Alby made a solo go of my first of MANY holiday shows this afternoon. This one was right down on the waterfront in Clearwater next to the Marina. The weather was just beautiful - low humidity for a rare change - and cooler air. So it was just a wonderful day at "the office" for me. Wink

Here's the view from "my office" today looking out at the water. The bridge overhead takes you across the intracoastal out to Clearwater Beach proper.

Now I'm just waiting on some delivery pizza. I'm starved and beat!

I've been running around preparing for my first of EIGHT holiday shows in a row tomorrow so I finally have a moment to post that Alby arrived! He actually arrived Wednesday but I just didn't get a chance to make a post until now.

We ran over to Target last night for a few things and he tagged along. We had a laugh at the Gothic Halloween tree mixed in with the other, more standard Christmas ones.

Tomorrow he'll be coming along to my first show. Hope he's ready to be put to work! Wink

Yay! So glad you enjoyed her adventures. Hatty was a fun challenge given her small size. Cheesy Made it easy to bring her places though in her little travel bag. LOL

I love that Doland pic too. I had lean waaaay over the railing to get her on his hand, but it was worth it!

I also have to give credit to Inselaeffchen because she found the tiny Mickey ears! We got to meet up (twice!) when she and her family came to WDW and she spotted the little mouse ears at a "build your own droid" station and grabbed a pair for Hatty. Grin

It was a fun round so thanks! Cheesy
