Thanks! She really IS as soft and fluffy as she looks. She's a bunny cat. Grin

...because I clearly cannot possibly photograph trees without her paws-on assistance.

Yeah, thanks Ginger. Very helpful! Cheesy Grin

@Wildfyre - those are epic! Grin

By the way, I totally forgot to tell the story of Wallace's last-minute adventure before he went home. I realized he had never made it to the beach during his stay and he was set to head back in like two days, so we were in Clearwater running errands and I thought, we'll just pop over to the beach. It's only like 20 minutes or so from where we were vs over an hour from our home by the time you factor in traffic.

Well...we got on the bridge heading to Clearwater Beach and....ran smack into a traffic jam. And with water on both sides it's not like I could turn around! We wound up stuck, rolling an inch or two at a time for an hour. The entire visible span in this pic is bumper-to-bumper cars:

(click for larger)

We were at a total standstill at the sign which is why I was able to take a pic despite being the driver! LOL

After we FINALLY made it through the congestion of Clearwater Beach, we turned and headed south to Sand Key which is another bridge over (and thankfully, MUCH less busy!!)

Ironically, it was FREEZING that day with a ton of wind so I had my hoodie zipped up.

But I wanted to make sure he did get to at least experience our world-famous beaches...

And that's the story of Wallace's final Florida adventure. Cheesy

My apologies to LadybugsAndBumblebees for not posting sooner. I've been sick for a week now and I had a show while sick that got rained out so needless to say spending 1.5 hours setting up for a show, then half an hour later spending another 1.5 hours breaking down from a show in a thunderstorm getting soaked to the bone did NOT actually help my cold. Cry

She commissioned a really lovely piece of art for me as part of her gifts back. I noted it when I was going through the scrapbook but meant to come back to it after I had a chance to read the story. Instead I got sick and totally forgot to come back and post it.

It's done on a thin piece of natural birch bark as you can see on the back:

How neat!! Grin Thank you for the thoughtfulness of the gift. It's such a unique souvenier I will definitely need to get a frame to ensure it does not get damaged.

Again, my apologies for the tardiness of sharing it. Being sick sucks!

Poor Wallace has apparently been sitting in my apartment office since THURSDAY because the people who run my apt are so incompetent that they put an OUTGOING package in the back room filed under some random INCOMING apartment number. Angry Angry My mailman finally tracked the box down today and though I packed, printed and technically shipped him last week, he is now well and truly actually on his way home. Ugh, poor Wallace. Hopefully he'll be home to LadybugsAndBumblebees very shortly!

Giles is home! Grin

He came home with a fun giraffe basket, a handmade pillow pocket for him to rest in, two scarfs, playing cards from Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC, a bunch of shells and even MORE gifts in the pages of the scrapbook.

Look at all the shells! Cheesy There was even a couple pieces of purple wampum shell. When I was a little girl, my Aunt lived in Long Island and there was a private beach at the end of her street. I remember climbing down to the shore and finding pieces of purple treasure. So that brought back such a warm memory seeing them again!

The scrapbook is so cool. Such a neat way she did it. There's a TON of info, and then little souvenirs within the pages! What a great way to do it. I am really impressed by the level of detail in the book! Grin

I haven't even read it all yet. I'll be sitting down and going through it this evening. It's really well done and the pics are great.

Thank you so much, LadybugsAndBumblebees! Grin

Side note: I was wrapping up the items for Wallace to go home this afternoon and my fluffy girl, Ginger, was a HUGE "help" in the process. She kept trying to get into the box - despite the fact, she really did NOT fit!!

Look, Mama! I made it! Grin

Using my cell, it's always hard to get a broad range of focus to include the LV AND the background. On my DSLR, it's a matter of doing a very small aperture for the widest depth of field, so like an f/16 or f/22 or something. On a lot of point-and-shoot cameras, you can also look for a "landscape" setting or something similar.

(And for those who are confused by aperture and such, here's a good look at how it works: http://www.exposureguide.com/focusing-basics.htm )

May *is* a long time away. Maybe we can start up in April instead? Wink

Mmmmh... I'm away beginning of May until End may to Florida ... but I could get my partner (Wildfyre, you're still up for our swap?) to either the Villa or Disney property (not sure what the rules are for that) if the delay is needed? We fly out on the 6th May.
LOL Or send your partner's package to me and I can give it to you when we meet at Disney!  Grin Grin That would be funny. Too bad we've already partnered. We could do an international in-person LV exchange! Wink

Poor Wallace has been ready to go but it's been a stupidly hectic week. He is FINALLY all packed though and I'm printing the label now. Will pm tracking # momentarily!

Mid-may is my birthday. (May 16th) Early may would be better so I can take my LV with me to celebrate. Grin
