1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Macro Challenge Entry-Kaptain Fantastic on: May 06, 2008 04:54:52 PM
This is one of my favorite pics of my doggie, Kaptain.  I have a million close-ups of his face, but I love how the grass and his eyes look against his fur.  Not edited in any way other than resizing!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Papasan Chair Cushion on: May 01, 2008 04:39:04 PM
I got this chair from my mil, and I've wanted one since I was a kid (i know I'm still one, but lol).  The only problem, it didn't have a cushion.  Like that would stop me.  So this is what I started with

I didn't have a big enough piece of fabric to make it all the same color, so the top is purple and the bottom is bright blue and heart print fabric from my scrap bin.  I'm not done with it, still have to sew through it and make a slipcover for it.

In Use, my doggies love it!

Just wanted to add a funny story with it.  My other dog, Kaptain, and I were sitting in it this morning, and I got up to turn up the t.v. and didn't think about his big butt being close to the edge.  Well when I got up it flipped over on him, he wasn't hurt at all, but it was funny because he had one of those what the hell looks.
This is Kaptain for size reference lol

These are just some of my latest dresses that I've finally gotten around to getting pics of.  Winter is making me hibernate, so i'm getting back by making sundresses lol.

Polka-Dots with hot pink satin bias tape, and if you look at each strap there is a matching pink button!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Is my beanie a beanie? on: December 14, 2007 03:10:11 PM
I'm trying to make my first beanie.  It's a simple (supposedly lol) patter for a single crochet beanie.  I'm to where I just single crochet all around until it's the right lenght, but it's just a flat circle, not hat like at all.
Here is the pattern i'm using:
Chain 3, join with sl st
SC 6 in ring
Rnd 1: 2sc in each sc around, mark beginning of round with tail from chain cast on, 12 sts
Rnd 2: *1sc in first sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from * around
Rnd 3: *1sc in 2sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from * around
Rnd 4: *2sc in first sc, 1sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around
Rnd 5: *1sc in 4sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from * around
Rnd 6: *2sc in first sc, 1sc in next 5sc; rep from *around
Rnd 7: *1sc in 6sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from * around
Rnd 8: *2sc in first sc, 1sc in next 7sc; rep from *around
Rnd 9: *1sc in 8sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from * around
Rnd 10: *2sc in first sc, 1sc in next 9sc; rep from * around
Rnd 11: *1sc in 10sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from *around
Rnd 12: *2sc in first sc, 1sc in next 11sc; rep from * around
Rnd 13: *1sc in 12sc, 2sc in next sc; rep from * around
Round 14 until the hat is the desired length: sc in all sts around and around and around
I hope by this point you see the pattern emerging. I usually go to Rnd 13 for a mans hat, Rnd 11 for a youth or womens hat, Rnd 10 for a childs hat, Rnd 9 for a toddler hat and Rnd 8 for a baby hat.

I'm to round 11 with a few single crochets after that, any help would be greatly appreciated!

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Hair Bows!! on: October 05, 2007 09:21:21 PM

Something Fishy

I made em' all by hand, I tried to use fabri-tac but that didn't work too well so I just sewed them together and pinched (is that even a correct term lol?) the middle and secured it with a piece of wire and covered it with more ribbon, and sewed it to a clippy!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Pretty in Plaid on: August 13, 2007 11:18:45 PM
I found this awesome fabric for only $2 a yard  Grin, the bodice it interfaced and the dress is entirely lined, my first time for lining a dress too!  I still need to clip my thread trails, and i'm thinking about adding more d-rings to the skirt part.

My camera REFUSED to focus from far today, so here are some semi blurry pics  Tongue

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Count Pupula dun dun dun.... on: August 10, 2007 07:58:00 PM
I was thinking about what costume I was gonna make my puppy baby Kaptain for Halloween, yep i'm early lol, so I tried out this pattern, this was just a practice one to make sure it will fit (my pups a horse, he's only 8 months old, so way more growing lol).  His real costume is gonna be baby blue on the inside and white on the outside, he's gonna be my prince charming since I wanna be a princess lol.

btw it was hell getting pics of him by myself lol, he kept trying to give me kisses, the flash makes his eyes look scary so I included I regular pic so you can see the beauty that is Kaptain.
