21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: COMPLETELY RANDOM SWAP - CLOSED EARLY FULL UP! on: June 21, 2008 12:41:28 AM
Speaking about things on the receiving end, I agree with if it was made with myself in mind and with lots of love it will be great.  But it's also important for the person to get to know you because you know they didn't just 'fake it' lol, I don't know how to describe it.  You can take basic info from anyone and make them something, but the process of getting to know them and making them something makes it special I guess  Grin, I hope someone understood me anyways lol

Once you get to like 38 you'll have a surge of randomness, at least I didn't and don't wanna stop lol.  I'm so excited for early closing, and I definitely am all for early partners!!  The sooner the better!

Yay, more people have joined!!  Less than a week for partners too, *waiting impatiently*  Grin

I feel the same way about seeing those type of things a re-sale shops.  Why would you just give away something someone made special for you?  Even if it wasn't for me, knowing that it was made with love and good thoughts is enough to make it valuable.  This swap is like a dream come true, a random list of things about our partners is a giant open space for some kick-ass creativity.  I can't wait for my partner, I always love finding out about them, it's really nice to get to know someone that you would normally never get to know.  Sorry for the ramble...  Grin

Just sent in my questionnaire, I haven't done a swap in a while and need to get back on board!  I'm already excited.
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Meeko and Percy shirt v 1.0 (Image plump) on: May 30, 2008 01:58:10 PM
I think it's a pretty damn good job for your first time without a pattern.  Just work on keeping your stitches straight.  I think that maybe if you used blue instead of the red it wouldn't be so busy since the Meeko and Percy fabric doesn't have much red.    As for the rest of the fabric, you could use it as lining in a purse, or even the lining for a jacket would be cute.  You could also save the scraps and make fabric covered buttons, or decoupage something  Wink.  Keep your chin up, and I can't wait to see what you make next!!
27  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Things I have learned about sewing (feel free to add...) on: May 20, 2008 08:31:08 PM
If you have pets, make sure you pick up those strings and scraps, you never know if your pup or kit will wanna add some fiber to their diet  Wink

If you aren't at your machine turn it off/pick up the pedal, disasters can and most likely will happen.

If you hear your machine make an unusual noise, STOP, don't keep on going lol

28  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Clothes for BIG dogs on: May 19, 2008 03:45:55 PM
I have a big pit bull, so I know your pain too.  I had some luck taking a large mens t-shirt and fitting it to him, but I'm always on the look out for patterns, and I've been working on making one for him, so whenever I get it finished I'll send a message with instructions your way  Wink
29  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Macro Challenge Entry-Kaptain Fantastic on: May 09, 2008 11:24:17 PM
You are making Kaptain blush lol, he's such a big baby.  That pic was taken when we were moving almost 2 hours to a new house, so we stopped to let him potty and get some water, but he just wanted to lay in the grass and sniff lol.  He's such a big baby, if people really knew how pit bulls are with good owners they'd be just as in love as I am  Kiss

I think this is one of my favorite entries, mostly because I really identify with what your thinking.  I'm not preggo yet, but I can't wait to have a baby and I'm gonna raise him/her.  This is really beautiful, and I can't wait to see your kiddo when she arrives!!
