11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Conan O'Brien Crocheted Pillow on: February 22, 2016 07:15:39 AM
Well, because of your suggestion I did upload it to the Team Coco museum of Conan art page.
Now they'll be a bigger chance of more Conan fans actually seeing it.

Thanks for the suggestion!
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Conan O'Brien Crocheted Pillow on: February 15, 2016 07:49:02 AM
I've been watching a lot of old and new Conan O'Brien clips on You Tube and decided to make something Conan-y. So I uploaded the Conan logo to microrevolt's knitpro website and made a graph.

From that graph I crocheted this snazzy pillow.
It's tunisian or (afghan stitched) using a size J cabled crochet hook.

The background light orange yarn has a sparkly thread running through it but I don't know if you can see that in the photos.

This photo shows a bit more of the right side there. You can see his signature piled up cowlick a bit better here.

The word Conan is made with a variegated yarn. It had purples, oranges, and browns changing throughout it.

Here"s the back.  It's a very soft and sparkly yarn. I alternated the sparkly orange yarn with a variegated orange/yellow/white yarn. I think this turned out neat.

Finally, here's a photo with a Love pillow I found at Goodwill. These are both on my curved lounge chair in my craft room now.

Love that Conan!

14  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: Can't see images on: February 01, 2016 06:10:41 AM
So glad it's not just happening to me! Whew!

Also, I was wondering if they might be new members of Craftster and they hadn't posted ten times, (or whatever the amount is), in order to post pictures? Could that be the problem?

Wow! I just love it!
All the green colors make it look great!
Fantastic job!
16  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Indianapolis Colts Wiggly Trivet on: November 28, 2015 10:13:46 AM
I made an Indianapolis Colts horseshoe wiggly trivet.

I used my Greenbay Packers wiggly trivet I made a while ago as a guide.
Just sort of turned the G on it's back and left off the middle part.

I think I will be making a Chicago Bears one next by just making the G into a C and using blue, orange and white colors.
(I really love making wiggly trivets.)

Here's the backs. You can see how the colors are crocheted over the grid. (But first you have to crochet the grid of course.)

No, the first step in making a wiggly crochet trivet is creating the grid mesh that you will crochet on top of.
It's a simple grid, this one is 35 squares by 35 squares. (wiggly trivets are usually around 21 x 21 squares).
It's double crocheted so the individual squares are two stitches high by two stitches wide.
After the crocheted grid is done, then you start creating the pattern that you see on the top of it.
I've often thought that it would be a lot faster to find some sort of pre-made mesh grid to use instead of having to make it.
It would have to be strong enough, and flexible enough, and big enough to be able to crochet on top of.
Maybe someone out there will invent this some day.

She's adorable! What's her name?
The scarf reminds me of a scout uniform.
Great job!
