1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / touque question on: November 04, 2007 10:09:04 AM
I'm new to knitting.. I've done scarves and other veriations of flat rectangles/squares, but am trying a touque now.
I finished a practice run through of the pattern... simple stockinette stitch, no cables or ribs or anything, on circs and dpns.. I've got the tension even, I can do the decreases with little confusion and even found that I like working with dpns... only problem is the rim rolls up.
From various knitting websites and here, I understand that the roll with just straight stockinette is unavoidable, but that different cast on methods might help.
Working the actual touque now, I used cable cast on, but its still rolling. No where near as much as it did with a knit cast on, but still.
My question is is there anything I can do to reduce the roll? Blocking maybe? Or should i rip it all out and start over with a couple rows of ribbing? Any suggestions?
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Aqua Teen Hunger Force Crochet on: April 10, 2007 07:22:05 AM
Crocheted this for my boyfriend..

I'm extra proud of it becuase its the first thing I've ever crocheted (besides a basic scarf or afghan) without following someone elses pattern Smiley

My boyfriend requested a Frylock and Meatwad to go with it, so there will be more pics soon..
