I love the neckline on the comic book dress, its really unusual and sits really well with the rest of the dress.

WOW!!!  This totally rocks!  You are so talented - having the inspiration and ideas to make this and then to actually realise your ideas - I second the idea of going to a publisher with this  Cheesy

Its cute.  And I like the whole clown vomit name - I am crocheting a star blanket at the minute which could fall into that category too!

I love this game so much, its going to take some serious competition to stop me voting for this one.  You NEED to sell this to a boardgame maker, or go into production yourself, I'd definately buy this and it'd be great for inspiring craftyness in everyone!  I want to play it lol!  So cool - this rocks! 26  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Star Baby Blanket~Along on: October 02, 2007 12:04:39 AM
Thanks everyone!  What I have gone with so far is black row, 3 rows rainbow, single black row, 5 rows rainbow, I'm now going to experiment with two rows black and see where I get from there.

The yarn is Courtelle Chevy premier - that doesn't really mean anything to me - I bought it cheap off ebay - 500g for 5.45!  I like the colours but it isn't the softest of acrylics which is a bit of a shame, if i wash it with fabric softener after its finished do you think that will soften it up?

Hi, I need some advice on where to go from here with this star blanket.  I like the rainbow colours but my husband thinks they're too busy - its a blanket for a friend.  Now I can't decide.  I'm also trying to make up my mind whether to do more rows of black, or more rows of colour before doing another row of black, or whether to alternate them from now on.  What do you think?  I'm in an indecisive mood and I need some opinions to help me make up my mind - please help!  Here is the work in progress:

28  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Please help - trying to sort yarns for a star afghan on: September 30, 2007 11:42:29 AM
I started this blanket this morning and its coming along well.  But My
husband hates the rainbow colours and so its hard to get his advice.  I decided to temper the rainbow "busyness" by adding the black, but the black is a thicker yarn than the rainbow and I can't decide whether it sits right. I think its ok.  I am trying to decide whether to do another row or two of rainbow before I do more black,or whether to alternate black and rainbow from now on.  What do you think?  And should I use a lighter weight yarn for the black?  Here are the pics of the wip, the colours appear much darker than they are in "real life":

29  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Obtaining Materials for my Project on: August 14, 2007 01:56:29 AM
There is always ebay, but it does take some searching and you'll have to do a swatch to double check your guage, which may mean more needles.  But I believe you can pick up "job lots" of needles on ebay too...
30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I know it's early, but what are your plans for knit Christmas gifts? Share here! on: August 14, 2007 01:53:00 AM

For DH I have no ideas yet. We usually just buy something together that we need/want... but I would like to do something more this year. Problem is I am clueless about his hobbies really... he likes to rebuild computers (I wouldn't even have the first clue about what to get/do for this) and he plays online games a fair bit.

You could knit him the space invader socks from knitty?
