41  Re: 100 Themes Gallery in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by yberry on: May 17, 2007 06:39:34 AM
My first ATC ever...

My sister and I decided to take on the 100 Themes personal challenge, with each of us alternately choosing a theme for both of us to work on. The first one is #88 - Pain. I made a series of 21, simply because making just the one would not have been less time consuming.

So now I have yet one more thing to suck up all of my spare time.

42  Is it a toy? Is it a pillow? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yberry on: May 16, 2007 07:14:06 AM
I recently noticed that my 22-month-old daughter started looking for something soft to rest her head on when she's trying to sleep, but an adult-sized pillow seems like a bit too much for her neck.

So I made this dude:

I just gave it to her, and the response was very enthusiastic: "Sush! Sush!!!" (I swear that her mispronunciation of "fish" has nothing to do with my love of Japanese food...)

43  My first pair of socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by yberry on: May 11, 2007 11:47:47 AM
And quite possibly my last.
Wotta pain the shaping is.

But I did finally manage to actually finish a project for my husband, who has been terribly neglected since the sweater I made for him ended up the size he was around his Bar-Mitzvah.

The yarn is cotton, from a Classic Elite kit I found lying around out of place in Wonderful Things in Great Barrington.

But I think I will just buy my next pair of socks.

44  Maternity t-shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yberry on: April 20, 2007 01:40:06 AM
I got really tired of rotating the same 5 shirts, and still have more than 2 months to go, so I decided to pull some old fitted shirts from the stash and make a go of it. This is my first creation in the series, I have another one in the works and one more idea that I am toying with.

45  Ballerina Kinder Surprise Egg Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by yberry on: April 18, 2007 11:12:43 AM
Ever since my brother went to a ballet performance only to find that the star of the show was a giant Kinder egg, I could not shake the mental image. So I made this for him, in the hope that I will be able to get it out of my head, or at least go in to mass production and capitalize on my hyperactive imagination... Tongue
