Congrats on the house!  That is such a big deal, esp. with little ones.  I live in upstate NY also (way upstate).

I hope you don't have to repaint your apt. kitchen.  I also hope you update us here on your new House Project Blog!

I used your idea for the spice cupboard but I didn't mount it on the wall, I just put it next to my stove area.  I also have a very 1970's house, the basement was a cheap paneling and harvest gold fiesta.  We gutted it earlier this spring and are now waiting for funds to transform it to my sewing/crafting workshop.

So, thanks for the idea!

I really love what you did with your kitchen, I have that fabric in the pink!  I am also in Central NY-- Syracuse, we may have many grey days and lots of snow in winter but our spring/summer and fall are the best--the same for Uticaplanet.  I also wanted to ask you about your "spice chest"-- I have a very small kitchen and have been at a loss where to put my herbs and spices, they are currently in a rubbermaid container next to my stove.  Unfortunately, that area is also where we have a 1970's era Jenn air grill.

Tell me, do you put them straight in the drawers or just in baggies in the drawers-- spill and tell me!

Your baby is beautiful.  I like that you have a past with big adventures.  I really love your Mary shrines.  I also had to redo my kitchen a few years ago but not as personalized as you did because we were trying to sell the house (it didn't sell, we gave up after 4 months and came home).

We had a lot of other work to do, I basically pretty much repainted my entire house.  The kitchen cabinets were a bear to do, I had to remove all the doors and hardware, scrape them down, sand, prime and paint.  It took forever.  Then I had to soak the hardware in solvent and scrub them with a metal brush, then I painted them with a spray enamel to match the paint.  Of course I lost one hinge...   My brother came up and plaster coated the walls because they turned out to be some strange particle board covered with an adhesive contact paper-- basically what they made modular homes with in the 1970's.  This was over every wall and the cupboards were nailed on top of it so I couldn't really tear it down.  They had gaps by the corners and stuff.  I still have some air bubbles where I could not get all the contact paper coating off.  Today it looks a little different.  I have a new dishwasher (white) and stove which is also white.   I also have pictures on the walls.  We are working on the basement now so things are in flux.

I really love what you did and that you have picked bright fun colors for your living space.

Hi, just want to write my last post on this thread.  I received my package today from Glamis and am so thrilled and happy I can nearly burst.  I am going to Reiki share tonight and can't wait to show off my new earrings.  I plan to bring my slippers to yoga to wear when I walk around after taking off my shoes.  Thanks kishcrafts for your excellent tutelage.

I hope to see everyone on further swaps and on the boards!  It's been really fun!

Very nice package!  I like your coasters and the wire sculpture (I'm a sucker for metal sculpture stuff).  I also really love your painting.  Nice work!

Thanks, I was told at the post office that I will get a slip (but they deliver UK packages, go figure).  Anyway, I figure since its been this long I will probably get it after 2/19, when Mercury goes direct.  It is retrograde now and influences travel, contracts,  and communication.  Those are areas that kind of go blooey when it goes retrograde so the post (communication) will be late.  So be careful signing any contracts (esp. in purchasing anything big like homes and cars) and double check all travel plans!  I try to avoid making any major decisions during this time, and study study study.  This retrograde cycle happens 3x a year.

Hi everyone!  I really think my package is being held up in customs.  I received an order of books from amazon.uk yesterday that I ordered last week.  I asked at my post office if there was any package there (in case I didn't get the memo) but alas, nothing.  The postal lady said that Europe may do ground to air which takes a little longer but in the US we can only send things Air which is why the package mailed from here shipped so fast.  I don't know whether to believe her or not.

So, I am being patient.  One thing is I really miss hearing about everyone and getting these little notifications in my email that there are more posts.  I suppose everyone is involved in new Swaps.  I have had a problem with my neck (a disk compression on my C5) which is causing my all kinds of killer pain shooting down my left arm and shoulder so have been pretty useless but have started to see a chiropractor so it is on the mend.   It sucks because I am left handed and have all kinds of home projects going on, one of which is tearing out my basement.  Luckily my he-man of a husband is doing all the hard work and hauling up all the stinky paneling, drywall, grimy moldy stinky 1970's carpeting.  He is a living doll but I really like working with him on stuff like this and feel left out.  Also the chiro said I can't do my yoga for a few days, have to rest the joint.  I guess I can do some things but not important strength building ones like the (modified) Hindu pushups, half moons, mountain.  I have to be patient and nice to my body and not push.

So I am missing crafting, knitting, painting, sewing, home demolition, and yoga.  Boo.  I did however clean the bathrooms, grocery shop, cook and do the laundry, some chores wait for no man.

Splendid event-- I have a reiki appointment today so maybe that can help my neck and shoulder now that I've had an adjustment.

Hopefully it will be come tomorrow.  I ordered something from Germany once and it took a few weeks.  Come to think of it, I'm still waiting for a book from Great Britain that I ordered via Amazon in the beginning of December.  I'm going to have to check up on that.

I'm hoping for today but don't have high hopes as the weather and roads are very icy.  Every school is closed.  I don't know if the post will be delivered--sometimes they don't if the weather/roads are very bad.  I'll cross my fingers!
