11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: I just broke my knee on: June 08, 2007 02:04:21 PM
I'm so sorry to hear about your knee! I have athritis in mine and they can be so painful, breaking one must be wwaaaaayyy worse.

I decorated my crutches when I last had to use them. I bought a cheap plaid scarf from the dollar store and folded it up to pad the underarm part. Then I took some black tulle, tied it to both ends to hold the scarf in place, then criss-crossed them around the top bars. I tacked them with glue on the bars so they wouldn't slide, then tied them in a bow at the end, where the handles are. I got alot of compliments on them.

Have a lovely day,
Elf

Jessvict,
I think that is an absolutely adorable little basket. Where did you get the pattern? I know how to corchet, my knitting, <sighs> that's not coming along so well.

The box said Delta, so I went to their website and looked around. I didn't see anything like that, but they have an e-mail address, you could write and ask them.

15  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Re: ATC-along on: June 07, 2007 03:41:47 AM
WIPs great idea! I have a whole box full of magazines I was trying to figure out what to do with them. Now I know what to do first.

Lolaness, your cards are great! The one with the girl struck a cord with me, I could hear my mother saying those words. LOL if she had been a crafster she just might have taken a needle and thread to me  Wink I love the flip up design of the second one, its just lovely.

Some ideas for stuff other than scarves and hats that I've come up with are:
A collage that might hang in the common room
A banner you might wave at a Quiditch (spell?) game
A center piece that might go on the house table in the dining hall
A journal or stationary with the crest on each page or quotes from a
   student from that house.
Soap with that houses "scent"
A stuffed animal of the house mascot
An Embroidered wall hanging of the house crest

Just to name a few  Grin

I'm trying to learn how to knit, so I will probably attempt a scarve myself.

Have a lovely day,
Elf

Romantic,
That was so totally awesome, both the things you created and you for doing that for your friend. Thanks for sharing, I did get some ideas.

Hello y'all,

I found a nice website that synopsises all the houses. It has the crest, a quote from the book that tells what type of people are sorted into that house, and lots of other pertinent info. I thought it would be helpful:)

This sounds like great fun! I love tiaras, wish I could wear them all the time, but I don't own one. Never thought of making my own (Doh!). Count me in.

Have a lovey day,
