1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Used Book Swap ( CLOSED, Send By June 27 ) on: June 19, 2007 04:04:41 AM
I've got everything done I'm just waiting for things to dry. Its so humid here (South Carolina,US). Even in the house with the air conditioning running things are taking twice as long to dry. I hate waiting. Maybe I'll make something else to send while I'm waiting. Something that doesn't require drying Huh

Have a lovely day,
Elf

Coral,

You could send your partner a list of titles including the one you bought and ask if s/he's read any of them. That way the one you actually picked will still be a suprise.

I've bought the books, the bookmarks are almost finished and a little suprise is in progress. I'll be sending Wednesday.

My swap partner is great, we've had the best time just chatting. Good pairing TwiztidBlood!

4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Re: Looking for a online community on: June 13, 2007 05:07:02 AM
Welcome back to the world of crafting!  I'm also trying to overcome my fear of making mistakes, so I totally understand where your coming from there. This forum helps that tremendously by challenging you to do new things or old things in a new way. You can show what you did, or not. Its very freeing.

Your self description sounds alot like my son. He looks like a bear and tries to act like a bear, but he's really just a bunny. I love that about him Smiley

Hello neighbor!

I'm just south of Greenville SC, about an hour and a half north of Atlanta. I must warn you, this place is so full of great stuff you will start doing all kinds of cool crafts that you never thought of before.

Good luck with your sewing, I look forward to seeing what you make.

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Re: Favorite bases? on: June 10, 2007 05:39:13 AM
I never thought of just gluing paper to the playing card. That is a good idea, it will allow me to use some 'unloved' art attempts as altered backgrounds. Thanks!

I've been trying different types of bases. So far I like watercolor paper and canvas paper, but I hate cutting them. I bought some playing cards today (on sale 2 packs for $1). Can anyone tell me how to prep them to paint on?

Have a lovely day,
Elf
