1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A perfect little Jordy on: December 11, 2005 11:05:49 PM
Made by request as a Christmas present for a friend of a friend who collects purses.  It's made from black shantung silk and green chinese brocade.  The clasp is actually a magnetic jewellry clasp.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Flower Pins on: October 06, 2005 11:47:52 PM
Here are 2 pins I made recently.  They are needle felted wool.  Thank you to maitreya for the tutorial - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32577.0

For my sister's birthday!  The clasp is magnetic and holds really really well!

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Brocade Jordy on: September 21, 2005 11:22:16 PM
Gotta love the Jordy!  This one is for my sister's birthday.  I whipped it up this evening between Lost (on satellite at 6pm) and Martha: The Apprentice.  It literally took 2 hours!

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Knit Beaded Wire Bracelet on: September 11, 2005 08:54:28 AM
Yesterday was my youngest sisters' 30th birthday.  As part of her gift I made her this bracelet.  It's knit with 34 gauge silver wire on 3.5 mm bamboo needles.  The beads are glass.  I made a similar one for the knitting Craft Challenge, but I like this one a lot more!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Brocade bag for a 30th Birthday on: September 11, 2005 08:51:07 AM
Made the purse below for my youngest sisters' 30th birthday .. which was yesterday.  The fabric is black wool suiting and a fabulous shocking pink brocade from a great fabric store in Vancouver's little India.  We actually bought the fabric together last summer, and this was the first time that I used it!  She loved it!

Here's my submission!

A little while ago I got an e-mail from one of the many knitting groups that I belong to and it had a pattern in it for knitting a bracelet from silver wire and beads!  This challenge was my impetus to give it a try and I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with the results.

I had originally intended the first bracelet as a 30th birthday gift for my sister, but now I think I'll keep the first one!

Credit for the pattern must go to Marnie Stockman of http://www.frivolousfibers.com.  The pattern can be found here - http://www.spunmag.com/article/050605bracelet.  Working with the wire was tricky, and not terribly friendly on the hands! But once I got the hang of it, it went pretty quickly (about 2 hours).

Here are the pics!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 2 new bags on: August 20, 2005 04:02:30 PM
Here are 2 new bags I've made over the last week or so.  The striped one is dark brown brushed cotton and bright green raw silk, and the triangular (trapezoidal?) one is black cotton and floral upholstery fabric.  Each has long handles to wear across the body, magnetic snap closures and interior pockets.

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Another Triangular Bag on: August 11, 2005 04:02:22 PM
This one is the same pattern as the last one, except I made the handles extra long so that it can be worn across the body.  The last one was for one sister, this one is for the other one.  Because you can't make something for one without making it for the other!  The fabric is from a vintage shirt that she found in a thrift shop.  It was really flimsy and stretchy, so I used medium interfacing to give if some stiffness.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Triangular Handbag on: August 10, 2005 05:13:26 PM
I'm on vacation at the moment so thought I'd whip together a bag that I've been promising my sister for months!  Well, here it is ... I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out.  It has a snap closure and there's a small pocket inside for her cell phone.  Any and all feedback would be appreciated!
