1  Nyan cat cake in Dessert by LizzieMcGuire on: August 16, 2011 06:50:26 AM
The featured nyan cat topic reminded me that I have this beauty to share:

It is a nyan cat cake for a friend, made from two sheet cakes and pudding buttercream and chocolate or marzipan icing. The tail is made of rainbow cookies.

I love my chucks but of course they are better with a personal, crafty touch...

These are embroidered with cool glow-in-the-dark thread! Grin

3  floss bobbins in Needlework: Completed Projects by LizzieMcGuire on: August 02, 2009 08:15:52 AM
I found a design for cute floss bobbins (I think it was here on craftster but I can't find it anymore) and decided to make a few:

They are great because you can string up the colours you need, great for embroidery on the road. And of cause they are cute...  Grin

4  handspun socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by LizzieMcGuire on: August 02, 2009 07:56:52 AM
For my mothers birthday I've knitted my first socks made from handspun yarn. I couldn't understand why people spin kilometers of yarn and then knit socks when handspun 2-ply yarn is much weaker than commercial sock yarn. I just knit these socks because I had some handspun yarn left over from a lace scarf.
But now that I've tried them on for the photos, I think I might need some handspun socks...

The pattern I used is:

It's a great pattern and fun to knit and I highly recommend it!

7  conor oberst / bright eyes: favourite band cake frosting stencil in Dessert by LizzieMcGuire on: January 31, 2009 02:50:25 PM
A friend of mine is a big Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst fan. So I had the idea of making her a Conor Oberst cake:

It's just a simple cake with frosting and Conor's face is stenciled with chocolate.

8  Fiber Friday - January 16th, 2009 in Spinning: Completed Projects by LizzieMcGuire on: January 16, 2009 12:32:40 AM
Happy fiber friday!  Smiley

I wanted to post these two yarn the last two Fridays but I forgot...
Now, here they are:

icecream, spun as a birthday present for a friend

and:

pierrot, which I have already knitted up into a hat

The are both spun from loop baby cakes and were a lot of fun to spin!

Can't wait to see your yarns for this week!

9  lace scarf from handspun yarn in Knitting: Completed Projects by LizzieMcGuire on: December 22, 2008 07:10:49 AM
This is my Christmas present for my mother:

It is the Shetland scarf from Victorian lace today. The yarn is handspun by me, from fiber I carded myself:

What do you think? I don't really like the colour, but I think my mother will like it.

10  Green Gables from Vogue in Knitting: Completed Projects by LizzieMcGuire on: December 22, 2008 07:04:24 AM
This pattern is from the knitting vogue and I love it! I didn't want a hood so I did some modifications. Here is my version of the Green Gables Hoodie (I think this is what it is called on ravelry):

The back and

the front (which is a bit boring compared to the back...  Wink)

It's really warm and comfortable and perfect for cold winter weather!
