Here is the second dress I made for her.  I added a flower detail to the front of this one.  They look so comfy.

It was very cool here so she has a sleeper on underneath and some sweater pants from the sleeves of an old sweater.

Which one do you think is nicer on her?  I think I like this one more than the green one because it's made from her dad's t-shirt and the flower makes me happy.

Hey Everyone,

I haven't posted anything here for a long time but I finally got around to sewing my first dress for my little girl and I had to show it off, and her of course.

Using a tute from Vegbee blog, I turned a baby t-shirt pattern into a lap-top pattern.  Then I drew the pattern into an A-line and Taa Daa, "Lap Top T-shirt dress pattern."  It's all made using second hand t-shirts.

And some action shots.  (Be kind, she's in the middle of her first cold.)

Wow girl!  I am definitely making my self a skirt!  The boys say "No thanks, Mom."  This rainbow one is my favorite, I think!   Cheesy

Hey, when do you find time to do all of your sewing?  Have you given up sleep?

Wow Girl!  Super cool!  Pick-up some pillow cases for me wouldya!  Here they are stupid $$$.  Can't seem to bring myself to pay a buck for second hand pillow case.  Hey, if I made one for myself I could use sheets!!  Oh my mind does have an awesome grasp of the obvious!

Thanks for the tute, too!

Thanks for all the comments!  I've been...busy!! LOL
Thanks for linking the tute, notverytalented.

javamama, I love the colours too!  Anywhere I can add colour, I will!  Cheesy And about switching to cloth, it's not that bad.  If the monkey isn't feeling well (you know what I mean,) I use disposibles.  I wash diapers about every other day, but what is one more load of laundry!  To convince your hubby, just show him how much money you will be saving, not to mention how much less garbage to take out.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Please tell me it's ok to cut up used but perfectly fine clothes to recon... on: June 19, 2007 06:16:14 PM
Yep, me too!!  I just bought 18 pounds of t-shirts for $6, to make diapers with, from a place that usually cuts the t in half then sells them as rags.  Well, when going through the bag, I found shirts that have never been worn.  I gave some to a neighbour girl, some to a friends girl and some my hubby took.  I even gave some to my boys.  Imagine, using shirts for shirts.  Also, I have a perfectly good blanket that I bought to recon...but it's perfectly fine!  Nothing is wrong with it!  How can I cut it?

My boys just finished eating this dish, and they love it!  (Well, three out of four!)  It's great!  Oh, I didn't have any apple sause, so I used baby food fruit!  Shocked  Don't tell my boys!
