1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: boring bed transformation ideas? (5 images) on: February 06, 2008 04:30:57 PM
thanks for all the suggestions! rillawolf, sorry but i wouldn't be able to cut anything out of the bottom  Sad i can take out those old storage drawers! i will definitely look into molding and pre-done decorative wood, do you guys know where i could find these things? i live by a Michaels, Joann's, and home depot, if that helps. will i have to go to a special store for the pre-decorated wood?

thanks,
Tabitha

if you want cutesy, preppy, "east coast" style, check out pbkids.com. its pottery barn for kids. i wouldn't advise actually buying anything from there, because you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else. but they do have some cute childrens rooms.

also, Blik wall graphics are a great way to spice up old walls. Their designs range from silly to sophisticated, and for good wall decals they are pretty inexpensive.

good luck!

hello all,

ok, so currently my bed is very blah. it is a straightforward rectangle with absolutely no style. here are some pictures to help you get the gist...

i would love to have a bed more antique victorian, such as...

or...

does anyone have any creative ideas how to achieve this look? or am i better off buying a new bedframe??
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: old desk redo on: January 12, 2008 01:25:17 PM
I've managed to remove the entire paint finish off of the desk, nail polish and all. What's left is a raw wood- particle board, i think? Anyway, now all i need are some creative painting/finish tips...

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / old desk redo on: January 07, 2008 05:07:46 PM
hey y'all!

so, i have this old, 2.5 X 1.25 ft. desk in my room. it is mainly a light, shallow blue with a cream pullout keyboard slat. it has definitely seen its wear and tear-

1. paint bald spots
2. some chemical/water bubbles
3. nail polish stains  Smiley

i am redo-ing my whole room in a loft-arty-hipster theme. for example, i am doing a faux plaster-over-brick texture in white on my walls, i have picked up some quirky/mod pieces of art, and plan to keep it minimal with spurts of color throughout the room. Any ideas for redo-ing this old desk, keeping in the simplistic, arty loft, style??

thanks, Tabitha

8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / glamourous scrub- a great gift (or for indulging yourself =]) on: June 08, 2007 12:26:46 PM
Ok this is my first "bath and beauty" thing...
i LOVE audrey hepburn-especially in breakfast at tiffany's- so i made some glam audrey scrub for my friend. the scrub itself is just olive oil and brown sugar, but i really like the way the bottle turned out. i just traced audrey's pic on some notecards, glued them on, sealed it with modge podge, and tied a little ribbon. comments welcome.

ok this is sideways i know but its the overall shot.

close up of the face...

and theres a face on top but i'll add that pic latr.
