Are the pins to hold the stitches as you sew, or to make them perfectly spaced?

The pins are to make the stitched perfect spaced, yes. and to hold them in place as I sew them, then I take them off =)

I got the foam from a foam-rubber mattress,from a store that sells cheap furniture etc. It's only cost me about 20$ and I have used a small part of it.

I made these dices for my son to play with. He loves them! They are prtty big, soft and bouncy.
