11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Want to swap but am new. :( on: April 17, 2007 01:28:26 PM
I don't think that it would be a good idea to stretch the one month and minimum number of posts rules.  People have to show some sort of commitment so they don't just disappear.  This happens!

That's what I thought, and I can understand why there is a need to show a certain Craftster committment.  I can wait patiently.   Cheesy

Thanks for the info!

Okay...as soon as I have feedback for one of my swaps, I'll start a Newbie one---so, here's a shout-out for any Newbies who are thinking that in the next couple weeks they'd want to join one!  Newbies are SO MUCH FUN!!!  And, they craft the best stuff!!!

May a newb who has been here for less than a month participate?  I know the original rules for swapping are only someone who has been on Craftster at least a month can sign up, but was wondering if these rules are more flexible for a Newbie swap.

Either way, I am looking forward to begin swapping real soon!  I love Craftster.   Grin

13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: resources, articles, great deals...... on: April 17, 2007 09:58:32 AM

http://www.stitcherscloset.com has a large selection of everything stitching related.  If you live in the US, shipping is free for orders over $35.

14  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: some needle-felted projects... on: April 16, 2007 08:29:44 AM
The hummingbird is lovely.  I think it would look great attached to a clear line and hung from the ceiling, but that's just me.   Grin

Wow! Fantastic work.  I sooo wanna try needlefelting, but have no clue how.  Gotta find some instructions....any suggestions?

Craftster knows all.  I'm going to be trying wet and needle felting real soon.
15  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: wire hangers?OH Noooooooo on: April 15, 2007 08:13:05 AM
Hey now-

This an old post, but I am going to bump it up in the hopes there are some new ideas floating around about what to do with wire hangers.  When the boyfriend and I combined forces we found ourselves with around 75-100 extra wire hangers, and I would really like to be able to reuse them for something other than putting creases on my shirts.   Wink

Thanks in advance for the help!  Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday morning.

16  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Star Wars Embroidered Quilt! *image heavy... on: April 14, 2007 03:47:55 PM
The awesomeness of this project is truly unfathomable. Much like the force.

When I saw the images of this quilt, my jaw dropped.

Beautiful work!

I'll have a Powerpoint presentation with (LOTS of) pictures of altered books, book purses, and those Book Bookshelves (made out of books)that booknuts get such a kick out of, and samples, of course.

Do you have an archive of the pictures you'd like to post?  I saw your book bookshelf on another board (which was fabulous).

Edited to add: Congrats on rockin the lecture!   Grin

You should do more portraits.  Smiley  That's really fantastic, and I would love to see more.

I think I would enjoy it! The Friends of the Library are sponsoring their first ever Summer Book Sale on Saturday, June 9, one day only at the NB Library! Anyone want to rendezvous there on that day?

I would love to meet up there!  Do they sell VHS tapes as well?  I *really* want to make this, and I need the month and a half to get good enough at crocheting:

Mentioning a book sale is going after me heart.   Grin  Great idea!
