41  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Spongebob Pillow on: June 01, 2007 07:35:35 AM
My little brother got his first apartment last year. He really loves Spongebob Squarepants, so I made him this pillow for Christmas. I used fleece for his body and outfit, and felt for the face and the "spots". My brother loved it.

Oh, and the nose is also a piece of yellow fleece, folded up and sewn into a 3-D rectangle.
42  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first purse on: May 31, 2007 09:04:42 AM
Hi everyone, I recently started making purses.

This is the first one I made:

I got the cute fabric at Joann's, I bought the last yard or so they had left!

I altered Simplicity SewStylish 3867 to make it.

I brought it to work, and my friend liked it so much she offered to pay  me for one (with a different fabric). Of course I forgot to take a picture! Then the receptionist saw hers and ordered 2 for herself! I sold her the first of 2 today. But of course I forgot to take a picture of that one too. Duh... hopefully I'll remember to take a picture of the 2nd one I make for the receptionist!
43  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Power Girl costume ideas... edited on: May 30, 2007 08:29:48 AM
The PowerGirl costume is postponed for this year... I decided to go for a simpler theme, as I have less time for preparations than I'd hoped!

I'm having a Heroes-and-Villains Halloween party this year, and I'd like to dress as Power Girl:

Has anyone done this in the past, or does anyone have costume tips (such as good patterns that may work, etc.)? Thanks!

I think the hardest part will be the blue gloves and boots. For the bodysuit, I'm thinking of either using a leotard pattern and modifying it, or just buying a leotard and cutting a hole in it...
