1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Burdastyle Jumper on: June 28, 2008 01:18:09 AM
This is my version of Burdastyle's Laura Jumper.  They describe it as something to wear around work, and most of the examples are made out of suiting materials and fancier things, but I thought it would look really cute as a cotton jumper for everyday summer wear.
I took the pictures with my Mac's built in camera, so yeah, bad quality.

I have a ridiculous farmer's tan right now.

It took a bit of patience and super-alteration-skills (and a bit of magic) to get this to fit over my ladies (they are too mature to be called "girls").  But it worked, and I'm so happy it fits!  Lolz.

A closeup of the fabric and lining fabric.  The colors didn't quite come out, but the lining is the same light blue as the button and the stripe in the pattern.
I am in love with Burdastyle and will definitely be making more of their patterns (despite their sizing stopping a good THREE INCHES before my bust measurement).
2  UNITED STATES / Virginia / Moving to Richmond on: August 13, 2007 12:58:29 PM
So I've spent my whole life in NoVA, but I'm about to start at VCU (my move-in date is Sat!).  I love to sew and knit, and I've seen some people posting about cool places, but I'm just wondering where are the best places to shop for sewing and knitting stuff while I'm on a tight budget?
