12  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Sheet to capris and shorts on: May 07, 2010 06:18:43 PM
I had this white sheet headed to the garbage b/c it was torn up (curtesy of my dogs). But I decided there was just enough to make a pair of shorts, but I got 2 which was even better. I had some left over dye from last year too.

Capris  this pair I just used 2 panels.

You can see the waist here, elastic in both. And the messy room, hair and shirt, ha.

Shorts for the boy. This one I used 4 panels.

Back-they are really even-

I use my own pattern that is set up for both my kids, I just cut them a little differently so I could use the edge of the sheet instead of hemming. And I just enough dye to each leg.

And have a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY weekend!!

Very cool. My DS would wear it b/c it looks like daddys hot pants.

I was reading your blog-If he don't like it now stick it in the closet and he probably will later on. My DD (5 now) has done that to me plenty-o-times!

Great idea! And it looks great too

We have a rotti/staffi mix who chews (well used to, not so bad anymore) and Dh wanted me to get a piece of plywood for her enormous cage, padding and fabric and staple it to the bottom. Great idea DH except I can't wash it if it's stapeled. A few blankets are now more than a few, but she has pretty much out gorwn that lovely stage (she turned 1 in Jan) She did manage to "Kill" the shared dog bed before she outgrew it though Sad .

Good Luck!
PS Our neighbors have a goldendoddle (if that's what its called??) and he is just the sweetest thing!
