so I taught myself to knit after always wishing I knew how... basically I can cast on, knit, purl, and cast off. i'm looking to extend my range of abilities after i'm done with my current project (you guessed it... another scarf) but for now i'm satisfied with this, my first knitting project ever!! it's not perfect but i love it anyways!
Here it is:


I used random alternating knit and purl rows, after I accidentally did the wrong one and messed up my stockinette... but i like it better this way

and of course, it's hot pink (my favorite color!!) and i hope to use it a lot in the winter!

i just finished my second knitting project (another scarf) and i am even more proud of this one than the first! it's supremely FIERCE!! it took me about a week and a half, and i love it tons! here it is, in all its stripey glory...

so this year for homecoming, i decided to make my dress. WOW it was a lot more work than i thought it would be, i ended up finishing the dress the day of the dance! but i think it turned out great, it fit perfectly and everyone adored it! hot pink is my FAVORITE color, and i wear pink all the time so it was no surprise i wanted a pink dress!

the fabric was the most BEAUTIFUL hot pink satin, it was amazing but frayed like crazy!! the ruffles at the bottom are made from satin ribbon, with a long stitch running through the middle to make ruffles, then sewn on the skirt. the belt is just a satin ribbon tied in a bow at the back.

i'll try to get pictures of the ruffles and the back if i can... but anyways this dress is probably the prettiest one i've ever had!

i used Simplicity pattern #4070, view E. the only modification is that i didn't make the belt that goes on it, instead i just used a satin ribbon and tied it at the back. and the ruffles aren't included in the pattern, but they're pretty easy to make by themselves. thanks for your comments!

so basically... i'm addicted to madras plaid. seriously, it's the weirdest thing. but anyway, i found this rad madras fabric at joann's on sale cheap and there was barely enough left on the bolt! so i bought it, took it home, and decided to make a cute pair of shorts out of it. finally, i got down to it, and here are the results:

so for my mom's birthday this year i made this. she loves our dog so it was perfect. i think it's called a lotus book or something? but it basically is just a bunch of paper that unfolds with photos on it... i think it turned out really cute!

the letters spell out "abby girl" with a page in the middle. the paper is 12" x 12" scrapbook paper in different patterns.

it was almost 7 feet long from corner to corner! folded up, though, it was only 6" by 6". overall one of my favorite projects! thanks for looking!

i made this pillow cover a few years ago... i love horses so it was a perfect fit! it's sort of an envelope construction - the back panels overlap over the back of the pillow. sort of difficult for me at the time because of the piping etc.... but overall not too bad. the pillow inside is a purchased insert; luckily it fits perfectly inside of the cover!

this is my first quilt ever... i made it for a sewing class in school and i think it turned out pretty nice! it was supposed to be a baby quilt (about 3 feet by 3.5 feet or so) but the colors i picked weren't exactly what you'd call "baby" colors. luckily, it didn't clash when it was done!
