1  Re: Alphabet ATC S, T, U in The Swap Gallery by BlackArmadillo on: June 23, 2007 03:18:54 PM
Teeisme received her T card from me today, so here's a pic!

Sorry if it's a bit hard to read, but the tag says Time Flies. Also, the background of the card is a dictionary definition of time.

This is T for Tending to the garden from Paperbag. It's a cool card with a lot of different techniques and papers, although it's a bit tough to see in the picture. Also, the card isn't wonky: that's just the photo.

Here's another pic of the sunflower card: not sure it's a lot better. A bit brighter, maybe.

I received an absolutely gorgeous card today from jan_on_ice, and here are the pics:

There are a bunch of pages in the book: I just took a pic of one. It's such a beautiful, original card, and I totally love it. Beautiful papers, especially the marbled cover on the books, and its hard to see, but there's a gold sheen around the edges of the card.

I also love the stamp that came on the envelope! I love rugby,  and the stamp commemorates 100 years of New Zealand rugby, with a picture of the All Blacks, their club logo, and the league logo. I'll definitely be keeping that as well!

Heh! That's so great! I can't wait to see what I'm getting from Jan_on_Ice!

I got my first card today from the talented goatgoddess (first thing I've ever received in a swap actually!) so I'm sharing it now instead of waiting.

U is for Udder! So cute.

7  Spring Maypole in a Planter in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by BlackArmadillo on: May 21, 2007 05:07:58 PM

It's a mini maypole. It stands about 3 feet high, including the planter. I bought the planter part, which was an ugly black and silver thing with a cracked glass lining. I took out the lining with a chisel and hammer, welded in a piece of pipe in the centre to hold the "pole", then painted it. The pole is a wooden curtain rod which I cut to length and painted. The ribbons are just the regular type from Fabricland, but my porch is covered so I figure they should be reasonably safe. The planter is lined with a piece of cocoa matting, which can be purchased at Canadian Tire or any garden centre. If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to ask.

I'm happy with the result. I've always associated the maypole with the beginning of spring. At school, we always had a "Mayfest", a day in May when we celebrated spring and danced the maypole, and I have some very fond memories of it.

Any and all comments are appreciated. This is my first project I've posted!
