So ages ago I confessed to being obsessed with rolling paper. Well not much has changed in that department. I have made all sorts of things with my rolled paper beads:

Pendants:

Necklaces:

There's still more coming, more to finish, more to photograph, more to post Smiley

2  Shattered CD Necklace - What happens when you break and bake your CD? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by wait4fiji on: July 21, 2010 08:48:43 PM
This Necklace is a first for me, but hopefully not the last.

Made from an old unwanted CD which I broke into a bunch of pieces, and baked in the oven at 450 degrees (to soften the edges and bring out the bubbles).

I then sanded the edges to smooth them a little more, and drilled a gazillion holes (I LOVE my dremel) and attached the pieces with jump rings in no particular order and viola!

What do you think?

3  Random paper bits meet my soldering iron... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by wait4fiji on: January 18, 2010 09:56:58 AM
So for my birthday (Jan 7th) everyone gave me gift cards for Hobby Lobby so I could finally stock up on Soldering equipment and roll out the new year with a new hobby!!
Here are my creations:

all my images are pictures cut out from packaging, magazines, or old unwanted items like playing cards.

Scripture Verses

Front and Back of Wise Old Owl Pendnt

Bicycle cards that were missing key players, found a new life

My favorite South African Tea Brand Five Roses (clippings from the box, and a tea tag)

Fortune from a fortune cookie that reads: "you need to live authentically and you can't ignore that"

and on the other side it says: "100% Genuine"

Hope you enjoyed, and feel inspired. Soldering is not difficult and there are some great books out there to help you out. My favorite?

6  Hand Painted Dancing Skeletons in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by wait4fiji on: October 09, 2009 11:02:24 AM
I'm not a big fan of Halloween, but I painted these bottle caps in honor of my niece who absolutely LOVES skeletons. She's 2 and went to visit my other sister's work at a rehabilitation clinic, and when she saw the life sized skeleton hanging out in the corner she was enamored! She could talk of nothing else for weeks!

She made us watch the old 1927 Disney cartoon "The Skeleton Dance" about 200 times!

I'm not sure what to make out of them, earrings, hairclips, pendants, etc.

Please excuse the total cheesiness of the subject line... it was all I could think of.
 Tongue Tongue Tongue

But this necklace is (in my opinion) worth noting.
I am excruciatingly proud of it!

9  I'm dreaming of a GREEN Christmas - Burned Out Christmas Light Bulb Brooch in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by wait4fiji on: September 21, 2009 06:06:10 PM
I'm dreaming of a GREEN Christmas!
One where we find unique and clever ways to re-purpose our Christmas trash!
That way we might have a few more WHITE ones in our future!

What happens to all those dud Christmas lights, the silly sad ones that don't work? Well they get tossed right? Wrong, they get RELOVED!

Here is my Fancy Christmas light brooch which gives those dud bulbs one more chance to sparkle!

This is a One Of A Kind Brooch... no seriously I used up all the dud lights I could find!

Made from old Christmas light bulbs, sequins, beads and lots of Love!

10  Don't normally work in polymer clay, what do you think? in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by wait4fiji on: September 19, 2009 10:41:43 AM
I dabbled in polymer clay for years, it's fun stuff!
But the other day I whipped this up and liked it enough to stick it in the oven.

What do you think?

I put it on a ribbon and cord combo necklace.

Be brutally honest!

Thanks!!
