I was just thinking, I'm gonna have to get something for my daughter's 3 teachers for Christmas. I remember last year asking my daughter what all they got and it seemed like the same things over and over again. Coffee gift baskets, hot chocolate gift baskets, candles, etc. This year I want to give them something different. Something they don't always get. I thought about crocheting them something up. But what?! What are some good, unique, ideas for a teacher gift?
My brother's long time girlfriend moved 3 hours away to college this fall. She's been really missing my bro. I decided I'd be nice, and even though he's not as good as the real thing, make a mini version of my brother for her when she misses him the most!
Here's the real deal
So what do you think??
The thing I'm most disappointed in is his hair! I'll need to figure out a better way to do amigurumi hair and facial hair. I just don't like having all the loops showing. KWIM Maybe I'll have a bit more time next time. I have a few projects that need to be done by a certain time, but I wanted to hurry up and do this first. Anyway, how do you like my bro!
My first freehand amigurumi!! I'm pretty proud of the cute little guy! BTW, he's supposed to be a bug. I made him from my baby girl, we always call her Catey Bug, so I figured a bug was perfect for her! Here she is loving her new companion!
I made this purse/small diaper bag last night and plan on making many more to add to my website. I'm wondering how much I should charge for it and others just like it? I was told anywhere from 15 - 30 bucks. What do you all think?
Big enough to fit a travel wipes case and at least 2 diapers!
I have no clue what to call it, but I think I did pretty good! I saw some girls at the zoo with purses like this and thought they were so cute. My friend told me they were Vera Bradley's, and go for like 50 bucks! I looked them up and was like "I can make that!!!" And so I did! What do you think?!
Able to fit a travel wipes container and at least 2 diapers!!
So when I was very first interested in quilting, I looked on eBay and thought how cool it was that I could buy precut quilting squares for what i thought was cheap. I quickly learned how much of a rip off this was and I also learned 40 - 4" squares doesn't get you a very big quilt at all. I got idea to make a mini quilt because I didn't have enough materials (obviously) and because this fabric was too cute not to use. So here's my crazy quilt. About 25"x25" and completely machine quilted and binded!
I have a doll here, it has a crocheted hat hot glued to her head/hair. I want to get this hat off of her, and the only way I can think is to cut it. I'd rather not do that and leave as much hair as possible in contact. Is there anything I can do or anything I can put in her hair to get the hat unglued from it? By hot glue, I mean from a hot glue gun/glue stick. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!!
I am so excited! I finished my first quilt last night! Well it was a practice one so it's only 21 in by 21 in. So its not big but it was enough to give me a general idea of what to do, what not to do, etc etc etc. I am so proud of it, even though it is not the straightest, doesn't have the straightest lines, etc, I am happy I did it! Mostly because I felt intimidated by quilting! Now I'm ready to make more! But anyway, here it is!
Man, I'm on a roll! lol I started quilting my practice quilt together! (I didn't realize how fun it could be!!! ) So I started looking ahead at how to bind. I looked at a few technics including the Heather Bailey one. I think I got it down, but the only thing I noticed is all the technics I saw had you hand sewing the binding on to finish. I'm not the best at hand sewng, so I'm wondering, is there a way to totally bind by machine? Anyone know any good links or how to do it? Thank you for your help!
I think I am just thinking to much about this and not doing it.. But what kind of thread do you all use. Do you use quilt thread, regular thread, etc? Is there much difference between them!? Does it really matter what kind of thread you use?!
