11  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Pricing This Purse!? on: July 18, 2008 02:10:27 PM
I made this purse/small diaper bag last night and plan on making many more to add to my website.  I'm wondering how much I should charge for it and others just like it?  I was told anywhere from 15 - 30 bucks.  What do you all think?

Big enough to fit a travel wipes case and at least 2 diapers!

Thank you for your help!

That is gorgeous!  I like the fabric and the strap looks so great...did you braid it?
Nope, I did the 4 x's bigger than you want then fold down the middle and fold the sides in.  It just looks that way from when I washed it.  I'm thinking about ironing them out, but I kinda like the look of them this way.  It goes with the rest of the purse!

I have no clue what to call it, but I think I did pretty good!  I saw some girls at the zoo with purses like this and thought they were so cute.  My friend told me they were Vera Bradley's, and go for like 50 bucks!  I looked them up and was like "I can make that!!!"  And so I did!  What do you think?!

Able to fit a travel wipes container and at least 2 diapers!!

Thanks for looking!

I only have 2 for right now but I think they are good!  I discovered that Soups are awesome for WW because they are usually low points.  Here's my recipes:

16  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: CrAzY Mini Quilt on: June 02, 2008 03:55:12 PM
You're right, that fabric is really cute!  Love the colors.  I'm fairly new to quilting, too, so I'm glad you said that about the pre-cut stuff on Ebay.  I have thought about doing some shopping there.

It ends up being just as cheap and easy buying the cutting mat, a cutter and yard stick.. plus the exact fabric you want!  Especially if you end up making a lot of quilts or want a big one, its worth it to just do it yourself!

So when I was very first interested in quilting, I looked on eBay and thought how cool it was that I could buy precut quilting squares for what i thought was cheap.  I quickly learned how much of a rip off this was and I also learned 40 - 4" squares doesn't get you a very big quilt at all.  I got idea to make a mini quilt because I didn't have enough materials (obviously) and because this fabric was too cute not to use.  So here's my crazy quilt.  About 25"x25" and completely machine quilted and binded!

Now that is totally awesome!  I can see how you put hours and hours and hours in it.  I don't think I'd be able to give it away!

That is amazing!!  You did a great job on that quilt!  And it looks excellent to match her room.  I'd almost think you bought it instead of made it... thats how perfect it is!
