4  Georgia / Georgia: Central / rides to craft shows on: February 12, 2008 09:45:33 AM
Hi, i'm always amazed to see the great amount of craft shows in other cities. it always seems there are tons of places to go outside of Atlanta, I really hope that changes in the near future since we have gotten our own craft mafia.
Anyway that is not what this post is about...I've been thinking a lot about sharing the cost of traveling with other people who are also planning to go to out of state shows.
I've compiled a small list of the shows i would be interested in going this year, if anyone is interested in sharing a ride and/or sharing a booth, please let me know or post in this thread.
ILLINOIS
Renegade Craft Fair, December 13-14 in Chicago.
Strange Folk, September 27 in O'Fallon.

NEW YORK
Renegade Craft Fair, June 14-15 in Brooklyn

OKLAHOMA
Indie Emporium, November 15 in Tulsa.

NORTH CAROLINA
Handmade Market, May 3 in Raleigh
Rock & Shop Market, June 28 in Raleigh

VIRGINIA
Ballston Arts and Crafts Market, monthly event in Arlington

there are others, but i'll just keep posting. If anyone is interested in sharing traveling costs and or booth costs and attending any out of state markets, please contact me
at roccadesigns at hotmail dot com

thank you!

I think this info would be of great use for all crafters in the GA area. It is really hard to find decent festivals or markets around here.
I went to ICE last summer, had lots of fun but did not make much money, just enough to cover my costs. the organizers let me share a booth with another person which was a great think or I would have lost money.
I also did Manuel's tavern in December, did not do very good, but would come back since it was only the 1st one.
I went to the Taste of alpharetta last spring, would not go back, since it is mostly geared towards food and not crafts, people were not interested in buying and my only sale was a neighbor artisan.
I'm planning to go to a few more this year, so any reviews would be helpful...I'll also try to write about the ones I go to this year
