I'm a big sock/stockings junkie and was really upset when my hot pink thigh highs got runs in them shortly after getting them. So instead of a Sock Monkey, I made a Sock Kitty! Never did get to finish it before we had a huge flood and I lost it, but it was really cute and I did get a picture:

I often make little bags out of my old nylon thigh highs that get runs in them. Just add a drawstring around the top to close.

Also once I made a "Sock Kitty" which was pretty awesome. Never did get to finish it with ears and such because I lost it in the flood but I did thankfully get some pictures of it before then. I used the instructions for making a sock monkey somewhere online, didn't save the link but I found it with a quick google search in the first place so you should be able to find a good one easily.
