1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt Round 7 Gallery on: November 26, 2013 02:31:11 PM
This is the chain scarf I was talking about http://nomsaknits.blogspot.co.uk/2009/02/loop-d-loops.html

I made one once for a swap reminded me of octopus tentacles pic of my one

all the cats had a go of the Catnip bunnies. They are so cute.
All the candy arrived in one piece.
Looking forward to playing with my yarns.

My package from Canada finally arrived.

Firstly I must say that I love it so will my kids and my cats  Grin

1. Something Local - Candy
Always love to get Candy from around the world and Looks like I've got a fab selection here.

2. Something Green - "What's Greener than a Forest Spirit like totoro?"
Big Studio Ghibli fans here, so yeah nothing greener  Grin Isn't he adorable?

3. Something Recycled - T-shirt yarn.
Love it and the colours are great. I'm thinking, I'll turn it into one of those really long crochet chain scarves.

4. Something hard - Ceramic Tools.
Fab - can never have too many. This gives me a nice set for home.

5. Something funny - Catnip Bunnies for my Cats
The reaction of polly was definitely funny, rolling all over the bed with it and growling at the other cats.  Grin

6. Something M - Mitered Dish towel
Lovely and in my kitchen colours too. Great job.

7. Something dotted - Earbud holder
This is one from my pinterest. My DD likse ear buds, but she's always mislaying them. This should help and it's so cute.

8. Sender's choice - Sock yarn
Gorgeous Skein. I love the colors and I'm thinking some really cute fingerless gloves would look great made with this yarn.

Plus I got some tea, a Toronto magnet and a Canada sticker.

Fabulous package, well worth the wait. THANK YOU!!!

shame about the clay.

Great house though.
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / FuFu Mug on: November 14, 2013 04:54:20 AM

Fufu is my cat.
I had made this mug and was sitting waiting for inspiration to arrive. Then I started going through my blackberry photos and found a pic of a young Fufu...so that's what is on the mug.

I use it all the time for tea.

Buff Stoneware, thrown, white slipped, painted with underglazes and clear glaze on top.

This is the pic, that the mug was based on:

not a nature born portrait painter obviously but I like it and every time I see it reminds me of fufu
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Spoon on: November 14, 2013 04:42:22 AM
Made my first ever spoon.
I love how it turned out, but wondered if anyone had tried this and if they had any good ideas on how to fire them. I waxed two areas on the handle and sat it on top of my beed tree. But the join between glazed and unglazed parts is a little rough.

Really happy you liked the package.

The desert boots/slippers are on Ravelry here or on the web here
If you go to the first link you'll see I just finished my second pair. They're really quick and easy but fit well and look really good. Planning another pair would make fab christmas stocking fillers.

The mug I made a few month ago and I loved it too. It's not big enough to be a tea mug, I like a bucket at a time, but would make an ideal coffee mug. So I have been looking for a good home for it.

All excited about my package arriving now.  Grin
