I used PCStitch...same idea - it generates the same kind of image, but you have the ability to edit the generated pattern and create "stitch" fonts from the fonts on your computer.

It turned out a little big, even though I did less stitches at the beginning, but it's soooo comfy. I used Lion Homespun as well, and a K hook instead.

i was wondering if you would share the modification you made to insert/remove the squeekers?

sure!
I just crocheted two circles and sewed the edges to the bottom of the heels, but didn't sew around the whole circle; I left enough room so that she can take the squeakers out from underneath if they get too irritating.

If you go back to the first page, there's a picture. It's really just two circles, sewn into the bottom, that's all!

I am so making this for my son for this winter.  I just stumbled on this and I can't tell you how awesome I think it is.  Thanks for the idea!!
