41  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Japanese street fashion swap round 2? on: October 11, 2007 03:29:32 PM
All this talk of christmasy swaps is getting me thinking about all the parties and family get-togethers that require a little dressing up.

So I'm thinking it would be great to do another round of this swap, and give everyone the opportunity to have some new goodies to wear out.  Grin

What say you?

Thanks! That was my initial thought.

But I guess I'm still worried if the partner(s) in question end up never sending? What then? Oh, and what kind of time frame should I allow before I assume the worst?

I have three swappers who have informed me that they are ready to send, but are uneasy about doing so since they haven't heard much from their partners.

*Both one swapper and I have not heard anything from her partner in over two weeks.
*Another swapper has not heard from her partner since the 22nd, but the partner has notified me she will be sending late, although she didn't give a timeline.
*Another swapper's partner has notified us that all of her projects are "planned and nearly ready" although that sounds a bit vague to me as well.

Do I just tell those who are ready to send to go ahead, and in the case they do end up flaked upon, find them angels later? Or should I advise them to wait to send until I get more definite information from their partners?

(Oh, and I think I should mention the send deadline was last Wednesday, Oct 3.)

I received the most *AMAZING* package today from GirlOutlaw! I'll have pics up tomorrow, I have to find a camera to borrrow, but I'll give a rundown of everything now.

*A Vampire Knight bag, one side Zero, the other side Yuuki, the right size to hold manga
*Nana door pillow
*Nana t-shirt with Shin getting all excited about sushi. (I loves me some Shin!  Cheesy)
*Shinshi Doumei Cross bookmarks, one each for Haine, Usio, Maora, Meguri, and Shizumasa/Takanari (can't tell who it really is, considering one twin inpersonates the other. bleh)
*Marble magnets, Alpha and Rin from Yume Kira Dream Shoppe, Hitsugaya from Bleach, Zero from Vampire Knight, and Nana from, well Nana.
Domino pendants, three from Full Moon, two from Nana
*A perler bead Clow key
*Bleach shinigami ring
*Bleach keychain, featuring the 10th squad's limit release symbol. I don't know if that was on purpose considering Hitsugaya's my favorite character & he's captain of the 10th squad, or if that keychain just so happened to be the only one in the store.  Huh
*Lolita inspired top hat
* and the coolest card explaining everything, featuring Shin surrounded by fangirls.

*EEEE* I'm so so happy with everything!  Grin Thanks so much GirlOutlaw! I hope you like your package as much as I love mine!
45  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Re: Bargain Hunter swap2 - 5 angels needed!!!! (5/5 found) Thanks! on: October 08, 2007 04:20:56 PM
okay, I'm confused. In the main thread and the gallery you said you needed 7 angels, but here you're only asking for 5. Did you already find them all, or do you still need more?

Okay everyone, only FIVE days left! Let me know how you're doing, or if it looks like you might be late (which I definitely don't expect!)
47  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Secret Santa Big Wish Swap (signups 8/26/07-11/15/07) on: September 27, 2007 01:29:15 PM
Hi, I'm Liz, and I'm in Virginia. I work nights as a nurse aide, but it's usually pretty slow, so I tend to bring portable, easy projects with me. I've finally gotten the hang of crochet, so that's my major endeavor right now.  Cheesy I'm also trying to learn to spin. I like blues pinks and purples the best, but I also like any jeweltones or earthtones. I would like to think I have very eclectic tastes. I'm way into Japanese culture, I've got a to-read manga list about 3 pages long, I love kawaii things, and adore kimonos and lolita fashion. And I'm totally drawn to Victorian inspired things, especially jewelry.  I also like things generally considered hippy-ish or bohemian.

My wishlist:
1. Kimono dress:
or a kimono hoodie:

2. Lacy wrap top, preferably crochet. I don't really have a specific pattern in mind, so I guess anything goes!  Cheesy

3. Scarf and armwarmer set, and if you're feeling really generous, maybe a pageboy style cap to go with it. I am so not used to cold weather!

4. Anything amigurumi

5. Mixed paper journal, I think I'd like something with either a bohemian or vintage feel to it.

6. Poly clay covered crochet hooks- I would offer to send mine to decorate, but since this swap is anonymous, I don't know how that would work.  Huh

7. Throw pillow covers, 18" square, I need at least 5. Any design, as long as they are blue, fuschia, or purple.

8. Handspun art yarn. Same colors as above.

9. Floor pillows. I tend to do all my crafting on the floor, and my backside's not so happy sitting on the hardwood floor for long periods of time!  Cheesy Again, same colors, since the pillows are going in my living room.

10. something from my WISTS!

Hey, please remember not to post just to say how excited you are to see everything. That's what bookmarking is for.

If there's going to be a third round, I am soooo in! Cheesy
I'd love to do another round also! Hm, we'll finish this up first and see what's good for everyone else who wants another go.  Cheesy
