What is it for? What happens if you don't use it?
I have a shirt pattern to make for my dd, have the fabric but didn't see that I needed fusible interfacing (yea, I'm a n00b). It's supposed to be around the collar area. What is it's purpose and how would it effect the shirt if I were to omit it?

I don't want to cut my patterns, so I want to trace them. Does anyone do this? Any suggestion on what to use and where to get it?
It's a Janome 2139 and I couldn't wait to get started!
It took about 2 hours total ( not bad considering I have a 2 year old and a 8 month old)
