1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / bag bling on: October 10, 2010 01:55:05 PM
Long-time lurker (and admirer of y'all's work), finally de-lurking to show something I made for a new bag.  I thought about putting this in bags, but I guess it really is more of a trinket.

I just got this bag, which has the right size and organization for what I need, but it needs a little sumthin-sumthin, ya know?  (and interestingly enough, this designer usually has WAY too much bling for my taste)

I was inspired by this site to make a bag charm (scroll down):

http://psimadethis.com/

So I set about making a little bling for it, to the style of vintage (got most findings at Michael's and Joann - Michael's in particular has a great new line of "handmade found" findings, I threw the labels away already but you can't miss them):

Closer?  Ok:

I particularly wanted a working watch on it, so I wouldn't have to keep pulling me phone out to check the time (especially when traveling in airports, I keep dropping my phone).  Here's a real close-up of just the bag charms:

I can post pics of the individual findings later (this post is getting pic chubby), but they're super cool - the little boxes open, and the lantern style opened so I put some tiny beads in there.  Enjoy!   Cheesy
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Best Knitted Teddy Bear book? on: May 24, 2007 12:16:31 PM
Help!  I've got knitted teddy bears on the brain, but asking around I'm not getting a whole lotta luck with folks who've done them.

Which is your favorite?

I've been looking at The Knitted Teddy Bear by Sandra Polley,
and Debbie Bliss Teddy Bears, but y'all please let me know what is good out there!

Which has good instructions, diagrams, pictures, etc.  And of course which are cutest!  I like the old-fashioned looking kind, w/a snout.  Patterns for clothes are a plus!

Thank you!   Smiley
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / I heart Pasha! on: May 14, 2007 05:09:05 PM
Ok, it's gettin' warm and poor Pasha doesn't know where the snow went. She (when did Pasha become a she? oh yes, when she demanded not only a red scarf, a GLITTERY red scarf) wants to get back to the frozen tundra, but in the meantime she's keeping me company ...

It's gettin' too warm for me to even think of knitting anything other than TINY, so toys and caps it is for now. I made Pasha extra special as I'm moving soon, so I put in her behind a number of rocks from a special trip to NC's beach last year w/good friends. You can hear them click against each other if you make her hop.

She doth protesteth the awkward and ungainly angle of the 2nd photo, but I put my initials on her butt - as something to remember me by, of course, when she eventually makes her way north.  Wink
