i'd throw a cute little cream belt around the waist to break up the pink a bit,

I was completely thinking the same thing!  I have yet to find the perfect belt though.  Sad

I adore this.  I would never use it as a blanket though.  It just screams display me!!!!!!  One of my friends made this smaller and now uses it as a shawl.  Yours is absolutely beautiful and you should be so proud of yourself right now!

So I've been working on this project ever since probably february.  I'm so excited to get it done!!!!  Here are a few pics...

The top was inspired by Knitty's tempting, if you hadn't guessed already.  I knit mine from the top down though so  I could know how long the skirt was getting once I got to that part.  I added ribbing sections down the sides but they ended up stretching and pulling and undoing all the waist shaping I did, but I'm still very happy with the finished project.

Sorry for the dorky picture.  My mom went a little photo happy with a fancy camera...

I've been thinking of writing up a pattern, but I don't know yet...

More details and pics on my blog!

OMG!  I was so going to do this if I didn't have finals coming up!  I'm a clarinet major in college and my old clarinet doesn't work anymore so I've been wanting to make a lamp out of it for ages.  I love yours!!!!

My guess is Beethoven or Bach.  Every picture of each always looks different, so sometimes it's hard to tell.  But I've seen the picture before.  Now it's going to drive me crazy.

Great job!
