3  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Baby doll salsa dish on: October 22, 2010 08:57:50 AM
My daughter is having a Halloween birthday this year. I was on instructables.com and I found this cute/creepy serving bowl idea:

I hollowed out the chest/stomach and also the eyes and mouth. there is also a hole in the back of the head that I plan on putting in a light so the eyes and mouth glow in the dark.

I plan on posting pic of everything I make for the party, I just got excited an had to post this Smiley

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / OOOoooo on: October 22, 2010 08:28:36 AM
Inspired by all the bib necklaces I've been seeing I made one of my own with a little twist:

I used plastic rings, white cotton yarn, and Lake Erie beach glass:

I like the asymmetric organic quality it has. I plan on making more using the diffent colors of beach glass I have Smiley

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Your LYS vs. Big chain stores on: May 07, 2008 11:30:30 AM
I was just visiting my LYS and I was just wondering where everyone buys their yarn?  I just found out that the store owner has to have a second job because her sales arent as good as she would like Sad. I understand that yarn at big chains (michaels, joanns, walmart, ect) are sometimes cheaper but I would rather give my money to the small business owner rather than give the big ones more money. Ive found that the quality and selection of the yarn is better at my LYS, also there is someone there to answer any of my questions or give me suggestions to yarns I would never thought of using. What are your thoughts??
