21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Please! Japanese/Asian Beaded mascots - Cellphone charms on: May 13, 2006 07:09:05 AM
I've done some digging around...

and right now all I'm finding is stuff in japanese with "great pictures!" according to the information listed.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8276791919&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr12_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8283298401&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr12_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT

This one I just listed includes a photograph of a page with the illustrations inside the book to show you how to do the beading-is that helpful?

Sorry I couldn't find much else. For being a beginning reader, your writing is pretty good!
22  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Graduation Ceremony and dance.(grade 8) I'm out of ideas. on: May 09, 2006 02:40:00 PM
Dude, do 80's theme!! Cheesy

put old records on the walls, give the girls jelly bracelets instead of corsages (the school where I work provides corsages and boutonnieres for guys and girls), put bright colors everywhere...

Have kids dress the theme! it would SO rock!

Or...

Luau! What about a luau? grass skirts, leis instead of corsages etc... uhm...plastic palm trees (look at preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'www.orientaltrading.com') for stuff) ... coconutbras (just kidding)...

I love planning parties and dances...woo!

Jo-ann's has it here in varying thicknesses on the bolt as well...the wide width bolt (think upholstrey fabric bolts, no folds).

It's only 5x7? I totally agree with what everyone else has said so far.

I'm chiming in because I used to be a custom picture framer. You have no idea how big those bride only wedding photos can get! The largest one I framed was 16x20! BEFORE THE HUGE MATT AND FRAME! Normally those were brought in by rich country club type young women (and some old ones too).

5x7 is modest and tasteful. leave it.

I agree-my mother has a 16x20 of just me matted and framed *that's size without the frame just like quoted here* in their living room...she says someday it will be mine Cheesy

I panicked when I read this thread. In our bedroom I have 6 framed wedding pictures on my hope chest.

I also have wedding photos from my brother's and my husband's brother's weddings.

Hmm.

What beautiful bags! How long did all of the weaving take??

Well, since I didn't realize I could put a ton of the ribbons you weave in one way all in at once until I was halfway through (you know, that way you can pull one up, weave one through, pull one up, weave one through...), it took me about 5 hours to do the weaving. I also put double stick tape on all four sides and used cardboard that I bent in half parallel to the weaving I was doing-that way i could bend it to loosen the vertical ribbon.

I used 3/8".

They are sold all over the world; an exception is the United States where the Food and Drug Administration has banned the toys, due to safety concerns and regulations against non-food products within a food shell.

Oh well that figures!  Evidently our children aren't smart enough to not eat a plastic egg.  I love U.S. laws!  But those Kinder eggs are wonderful!  I have the toys on my desk at home-- my favorite is the ladybug in the flower.  So cute!

But they really don't even hold a torch to all the beautiful things you made Eva-- I was seriously like a kid on Christmas morning when I opened your package! I am crazy about that little cupcake, especially! Smiley  So fuzzy!

aaaaaaaactually, Nestle makes a chocolate ball called the "wonderball" that has a plastic sphere inside with other candy (sometimes a toy i think...) inside.

we have them in wisconsin Cheesy

I loved this so much I have been wanting make it for almost a week now.

Made mine yesterday and today.

Here we go!

There's the finished product. I used slightly different colors (our JoAnn's sucks and never has everything in stock). Oddly enough, I had some plaid ribbon that matched PERFECTLY from another project (ribbon belts) and so I decided to stitch that to some white grosgrain ribbon and put it white side out.  I used a white daisy flowery type button for the closure.

You see a little change purse in the pic? It was intended to hold credit cards but it's about 1/3 inch too short to fit them in the opening without force. They fit once they're inside but GRRR. I'm going to have to do something else with it I guess  I had to hand stitch in the zipper in because it was too small to fit into the machine. I sandwiched the zipper between the outer and lining fabric and just stiched back and forth. I'm considering using the other flower button to tie on the zipper as a pull.

By the way, here's a pic of the outer and inner fabrics together so you can see the lining.

I think felt would be really cute...I've seen a fried egg purse or something floating around here. It was probably knitted though. I wanted to do it in felt. I should look for it.

Found it. original link here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=23995.0 and the shortcut here: http://www.cult45.fsbusiness.co.uk/featuresjackie.html  I want to make it out of felt so bad...make a plate looking thing and put snaps all over it...then make food with snaps on the underside to snap on depending on my food feelings. Cheesy

Ooo. Maybe That will be this year's summer project!

I did 15 stripes instead of 19 because it was just getting too long...and who wants to knit a scarf the first week in July? (spring turned into summer...jeez was it boring to do!)

You know, I was just wondering about that.  I think I'm going to run out of yarn around stripe 16 or so...but I really wanted to do all 19.  How long is yours?  It was so hard for me to find this yarn I might just have to settle with 16.  I just hope it's long enough... Undecided

Well i sent it off the morning after I finished and never quite measured it but I want to say around 6 ft long. I know for sure it was taller than me. Smiley
30  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Harry Potter Scarf Knit-Along? on: October 08, 2005 06:00:16 PM

im using the same pattern, i think i might do the same and not do all 19 stripes..its already at my waist when i put it around my neck

Yeah, it comes out huge. Plus, I used bigger sized needles I think than what it called for...and really cheap yarn. *cough* it cost me 8 bucks to make.

THEN I got a request to make another just like it in Steeler's colors.

Argh the boredom. Smiley

Oh well. I changed what I cast on and how many rows so it's going faster. I'm already halfway done with that one and I really only started it last week.
