Thanks bunches for the comments! Cheesy

itesser- Yeah, I know what you mean; I actually went to find the original Harold book and my mother informed me that we only have a copy of "A Picture For Harold's Room" ... which is where I got the idea for the painting on the left card. Smiley I think it worked out okay.

farmgirljane - I asked my french friend if she'd heard of it, and she hadn't either! It must be very American or something. Smiley It's a very cute book, you should certainly check it out.

I love your playing the melody card elmersgloo!

Thanks! ^_^ Our local music (instruments/etc) store uses these paper bags for guitar picks and books and anything else you may buy, the owner gave me a whole stack to use for crafting!! I think the card turned out nice Cheesy

AND I LOVE THE PEAS CARD!! That is just too cute. I HATE peas...thats so perfect Cheesy
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: cross stitched sampler swap? on: April 08, 2007 11:28:11 PM
Oh my gosh, this would be so much fun! Smiley I love to cross stitch but "easy" things like, well, words and quotes are definitely my preference. I have to wait a few more days before I can participate in swaps, but this would be a fun first one for me I think Cheesy

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Harold and the Purple Crayon on: April 08, 2007 09:32:40 PM
Once upon a time there was a little boy named Harold, who had a purple crayon...

...and he liked to draw.  Grin

Both cards together:

I think I did okay Cheesy It was a little hard to keep the purple crayon theme without having an almost bland card, but if you read the book, it makes sense being so plain! Smiley I only wish Harold had chosen a less messy medium other than crayon for us to draw with!! ^_^

This is my first challenge, hope you guys enjoy Cheesy

Omg...these are too cute. XD I love this book, but have only read it in French. It's almost silly seeing it in English! Smiley

Nice job!
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: What part of your craft do you hate to do? on: March 23, 2007 07:05:10 PM
Cross-stitch here! I love it to death but hate when I mess up and have to go back and undo knots... drives me CRAZY.

I also hate trying to find uses for things I stitch XD Seems like all the generic "stitch a pillow!" or "stitch a hand towel!" things are always geared towards old ladies. Sad
10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is Walmart getting rid of fabric?? on: March 23, 2007 06:25:32 PM
This seems to be true everywhere- I live in a TINY little area with only a few craft stores, most are very specific: yarns, fabrics, scrapbooking. But where am I to buy the little cheapos like beads, felt, etc? This is a big pain.

I went in tonight and all of the blank paper goods (notecards, etc) that I LOVE to work with are all on clearance, same with the scrapbooking papers, which I ALSO use but really dont want to pay full price for at the specialty stores- they're so expensive!

This just seems like such a silly move on wal-mart's part Sad
