1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: corset and tutu help needed on: October 18, 2005 06:37:38 AM
I don't have any links to help you but I did have a thought.  If I'm understanding this right you would probably have to make quite a few of these outfits in pretty quick order.  A corset style top would probably still give the look your wanting but be faster and easier to make.  However I love the idea so if the time frame will be doable... I say go for it. Smiley

Buddah Belly - coming from lancaster Ave, turn right on main street, and turn right on N. Poplar and the Buddah Belly will be on your right.

When I looked it up on yahoo it was called "Buddah Belly Deli and Pub" but I had been told it was a coffee shop... hmm.  Either way the place looks cool.

We are a little stuck with air though.  We are going to blow her hair back as if it was windy, and she is going to wear whites, silvers, and light blues, but other than that we are stuck.  I told her she should have a kite flying out of her hair, but she wasn't thrilled with the idea!

Thanks so much!  This does help them look a lot better.  For some reason the flap from folding them bothered me, no clue why considering I don't think it matters with the finished product.  But I started cutting a small slit and folding it together that way.  Same shape, no flap.

Now if I could just figure out how to place the petals so I don't have a constant missing petal look.......lol

yours look so perfect.

for water, it would be cool if you had a spary bottle in your purse, and misted urself a bit, not like really heavy just so you glistened, maybe for fire too.

Oh thats an idea.  Another idea would be glitter!  Correctly colored sparkles and glitter could be really fun! (I just like glitter)

I was thinking of making multiple fairy costumes based on the elements... lol.  But for clothes... Keep your clothing in the color scheme of the element.

For air maybe a skirt that is breezy flowy very light maybe almost see through fabric in a light yellow, or even white.

Fire.  A gypsy type skirt, with multiple reds and oranges if you can.  You want movement, but not light and flowly.

Water.  A lot like air.  Blues and greens. You want movement and flow.

Earth... for earth I think pants might be good.  Earth is the stable element.  Perhaps sort of think "tree" when you make the costume. Smiley

I just made a really ugly one out of lined paper just to try it.  Worked out great!  Now I must make some pretty paper to use!  Thanks so much!

oh! i'm dying to find some good coffee at a neat place!

I know of two actual coffee places.  Live Wire on main street.  And the buddah belly, which I can't remember which street its on, its suppose to be good with a nifty atmosphere but its hours seem really hit or miss (I"ve never seen it open).

A new fabric store just opened up in richmond.  Its on the easter bypass, in the shopping center that has goodwill and papa johns in it.

I believe its called Coffee House Fabrics?  I was in the other day and it was adorable.  Some really cute fabric, as well as some really cute patterns and idea books.  Its only been open for a few days.  They even have a little coffee house area with seating and coffee!
