64  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Leg/Body Exfoiliater on: July 31, 2004 09:47:00 AM
hey,
i dunno if u already know this or not if so pls forgive me because i only thought of it recently.
U c i had a go at waxing my legs and it kinda didnt work it was only v. v. painful and it left all the glue behind and it wouldnt wash off
and tnx to that i have found out that if u then cover and rub your legs with nutty peanut butter it comes off nice and easily.

so i was thinking wouldnt it work as an all round good body exfoiliater because peanuts have vitamin E in them i think which is good for ur skin?!?

66  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Bedtime Poem on: July 10, 2004 08:15:42 AM
i have added this make from my and my friends website and i just want u to know that it is safe for me to do that because i made it.I am just adding that because the last time i had problems.

if you go to the site you will find pictures http://groups.msn.com/twisted-angels
You can also see them at http://groups.msn.com/Angel-Designs then look in the DIY index (u dont have to become a member to c it)

Bedtime Poem

You Will Need:

cardboard

paint(any kind but prefably light in colour)blue, yellow, and orange

tissues or toilet paper

a poem

a scissors

glue

a craft knife

this would be your end result:

Start off by drawing a a moon shape on your cardboard, then a bit further away a cloud and then some stars. Before you cut out the shapes paint it.Below is the paint affect you will have.

To get that paint affect first put the paint on in one direction,

then before it has a chance to dry, take the tissue or toilet paper(clean),

and dab it onto the paint with medium force,

lift and go over all your paint doing the same thing,if you want a darker affect do a second layer.

Leave to dry and then cut out your shapes. On the back of the cloud look for the middle and then cut out a rectangle the size of your poem. Then stick your poem to the rectangle and then paint it orange doing the same thing yu did with the cloud, moon and stars.

Then stick the moon and stars to the cloud making sure u can still see the poem. And leave to dry.

At the back you can also add a ribbon to make like a hook so you can hang it up.

enjoy!

68  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Grafitti Trainers on: July 06, 2004 04:13:28 AM
GRAFITTI TRAINERS

YOU WILL NEED:

An old pair of trainers
Paper
A pencil
An eraser
One fine permanent marker pen or a
paint pen
One thick permanent marker pen or a
paint pen
Old newspaper
Acrylic varnish

METHOD:

Grab an old pair of leather trainers. Make sure that they are a pair that you won't mind making a mistake on!

Make a plan of how you'd like your design to look - play around with different patterns or wording on a piece of paper. It's a good idea to lay your trainer on its side on a piece of paper, draw round it and practice your ideas within the outline. That way you'll get a better idea of how your trainer will actually look.

Once you're happy with your design, use a fine line permanent pen to draw the outline of your design. Put your main design on the outer side of your trainers - that way, people can see the full effect!

In order to make sure your design stays on your trainers and doesn't rub off on your clothes or anywhere else, you need to varnish it! Stuff the trainers with scrunched up old newspaper. Spray the acrylic varnish all over the leather, taking care not to spray it on too thick. Make sure that you keep the windows open or do this outside as the spray does pong a bit!

And there you have it, your very own designer trainers! To ensure that they last for years, wash them with soapy water carefully and when they dry, give them another spray of acrylic varnish.
