25  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Best crochet hooks? on: October 23, 2007 05:46:04 AM
i LOVE the susan bates hooks...the flat throat is great for holding and hooking yarn. i have a few metal boyle hooks but i dont like them as much and it seems the nose part [pointy part] is duller than the bates hooks. i for one sort of like acrylic hooks but they definetly do not slide as nice as some others. has anyone used those lion hooks? the ones that are like smooth touch or something? they seem very slippery but they have the rounded throat part which i hate.
26  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Questions About Hairstyles! on: October 23, 2007 04:20:40 AM
i have curly hair just like you...and i have always had some sort of highlight in my hair [right now i have pink] and i think it looks better in my curly hair...enhances the curl. why would you need to color it brown though...its near impossible to get dye out of hair so it makes no sense that if you are going to lighten [highlight it] that you would put a barrier layer of color on it [the brown]. i always have an easier time when im dyeing over natural hair rather than dyed hair.

28  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / amigurumi beet on: October 22, 2007 07:41:05 PM
i have never made an amigurumi anything before...i started fooling around today at work and came up with this beet. she is a sweet beet but a very sleepy beet!

her features are a bit wonky because i used quadrupled up black thread because i had no floss with me at work...but i love her anyways.

i didnt use a pattern or anything...just sorta crocheted what i had in my head...and she came out just like i thought it would Cheesy

how did i do for my first ami?
