31  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Danger! High Voltage! on: May 20, 2009 12:53:05 PM
Holy light-up codpiece, Batman! I saw this in Hot New Projects and just about died.... Something about Electric Six just screams cross stitch.
32  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Elephant, fish and mushrooms on: May 05, 2009 09:55:32 PM
I totally have those mushroom transfers from a long time ago. Or rather, my mother has them. Holy crap, I've never seen them anywhere else before! They existed before I even did...
33  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Can anyone recommend a shorts pattern? on: April 06, 2009 09:22:54 AM
I recommend McCall's M5391 (http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5391.htm?search=m5391&page=1); I just bought it super-cheap on sale, but I'd been coveting it for a while. It's the perfect basic shorts pattern for either massive altering, or wearing just as the pattern makes em'. And when I say massive altering, I mean I'm currently making view "A" into sailor shorts using JJ from BurdaStyle's pattern pieces, and it's coming out perfectly.

YESSS! That is an awesome purse. Also: that is an awesome book/series of books.
35  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What was I thinking?! A lap quilt debacle on: December 31, 2008 08:46:50 AM
I started a quilt this summer and got as far as starting to pin everything together - and then I got really intimidated by squaring everything up and the actual QUILTING that I'd have to do, so it's been folded up in a pile for three months. Okay, four now.

Today, though, I'm going to try this "bagging" technique and see if it makes my life easier.
