11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Trifecta handbag on: February 01, 2008 06:54:31 PM
i freaking love this purse, i have been waiting for this pattern for months. (pattern: http://www.studiokatdesigns.com/trifecta.htm )

i couldn't be bothered with pockets and interfacing, so i skipped all of that, maybe on the next bag i'll follow directions .... not very likely  Grin

ETA: this bag is a MONSTER! it can be stuffed without seeing an end in sight. I was able to fit inside: notebook, umbrella, giant wallet, Treo smart phone, pens, lipstick, gum, keys, hat, gloves. AND IT STILL HAD ROOM! but this bag is actually quiet small, about the size of a notebook.

12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / the knitted beaded monster on: January 27, 2008 06:54:01 AM
this bag just completely consumed my life for the past week, it was extremely easy, but the knitting took ages. I even spent the last day of knitting knitting straight through the night  Shocked

i'm quiet happy with it as it turned out exactly as i envisioned it- small yet impressively roomy. it also had 5 interior pockets so that all of  my small items such as keys and lipstick and phone will not end up on the bottom. there's nothing i hate more then digging through the whole bag just to find the item you need right away, like your keys when you're carrying loads of bags, your phone when you hear it ringing and your lipstick when your lips are dry as the des(s)ert

it's still a work in progress, as i am not completely happy with the lace tie, but i have nursing school exams to worry about and this bag took up way too much as it already.

13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Need an honest opinion~ UPDATED with suggestions on: January 05, 2008 02:06:21 PM
i need an honest opinion from you cool chicas. i know how I feel about this jacket, but i need opinions from the world outside my head. hubby is not feeling the sleeves, but it's the part i love the most. especially because it looks great with tall gloves.

but i wanted to hear other's opinions, am i really out of touch?

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / drawing empire waist pattern help on: March 20, 2007 10:57:46 AM
i need help drawing up a pattern, I need to make this dress this week and ordering it will not get it here in time.

its this dress, http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V8285=x&TI='8285'&page=1

which has an empire waist and I believe a 6-gore skirt. i know how to do the top part, but not how to do a empire waist gored skirt with princess seams

could someone offer a quick tutorial how to draw it up ( pattern), like where to measure, and if this is indeed a 6 gore skirt( i know how to do those )

thanks a million
