I'm famous for it! It even has a song to go along with it:
O Christmas quiche, O Christmas quiche,
How lovely are your colors!
O Christmas quiche, O Christmas quiche,
How lovely are your colors!
You're filled with egg and lots of cheese,
tomatoes, onions, broccoli.
O Christmas quiche, O Christmas quiche,
How lovely are your colors!
annnnd here's the recipe. mind you, cooking's more of an art than a science for me, so amounts aren't exactly exact.
you'll need:
pie crust dough from your own recipe
swiss cheese
onions
broccoli
tomatoes
3 eggs
1 can evaporated milk
1. First, put the crust in a pie pan, prick it with a fork and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F.
2. While that's baking, steam the broccoli, sauté the onions, and grate a bunch of cheese.
3. When the crust is done baking, place the cheese in the warm shell and let it melt. layer the onions and broccoli on top of that.
4. Next, beat the eggs and evaporated milk together and pour into the pie shell on top of everything else.
5. Then, slice the tomatoes cross-wise so that it makes cool-looking rings. cover the top of the quiche in a single layer of the tomatoes.
6. Bake for about 45 minutes at 375 degrees F, or until the middle doesn't slosh around too much when you jiggle it. Remove from the oven (wear oven mitts, of course) and let cool for about 10 minutes.
