1  Re: Gilmore Girls Swap Round 3 in The Swap Gallery by Nelly on: November 28, 2006 09:43:39 PM
Well I know I'm horribly late in posting pictures, but I finally got hold of a digital camera (I've lost mine  Sad) and I wanted to properly show off what PixieSkull sent me. Wink

She made me an awesome blue hat, t-shirt, jewelry, and a big mug. She also sent me a TON of goodies...which I quickly ate. Embarrassed
Thanks so much  PixieSkull and thanks to Cumber for organizing!

3  Re: Guilty Pleasure Movie Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Nelly on: September 27, 2006 03:30:35 PM
okay, so I'm a day later with pics than I said I would be, but oh well. These are the wonderful items yamwam sent me. Cheesy

She sent me some hand knitted black gloves, a Serendipity notebook, my very own Casanova Candle (LOL!), and some snowflake Christmas ornaments (I'm pysco about Christmas and love these things!).
I tried to get a pic of the candle instructions, but they were all blurred with the flash of my camera off and it refelected when it was on. Roll Eyes
Anyways, I love my items. Thanks so much Yamwam!

4  Re: MP3 Player Case and Mixed CD Swap! gallery in The Swap Gallery by Nelly on: September 05, 2006 08:56:21 PM
Well I just found out my cases have been recieved and thought that my partner wouldn't mind if I posted some pictures (sounds like she's got quite a bit on her plate as it is!).

I think the pics pretty much speak for themselves. I made a little clutch which says "mypod" on it to hold the actual fitted case made of a capri sun pouch. I hope everything fit alright. I got it as close to the measurements I had. Undecided

Anyways, I've recieved my (Awesome) package from thumbkin and while I don't have any good pictures at the moment (if you have some thumbkin, feel free to post them), I thought I would post what I made for her. She recieved today I believe.

Front of bag I sent.

Back of bag.

Beaded items.

6  "Essentials of Medical-Surgical Nursing" in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Nelly on: August 14, 2006 01:44:41 PM
So I picked up this old 80's textbook for 50cents at a thrift store with thoughts of making one of those book purses. I'm going to school to become a nurse so I was pretty excited. Well it sat under my bed for months and after looking at it various times I wasn't sure it would match my style very well so I let it be.
So fast forward a bit...My Aunt's birthday is approaching and my mom wants to get her something really nice and thoughtful because my aunt always gives such nice gifts. My aunt just happens to be a Nurse Practitioner  and has taught nursing at a college. hehe Cool. So It's the night before her party and my mom is freaked cause she hasn't found anything. Idea lightbulb goes on and the process began. Cheesy I went to walmart and got all my supplies and went to work on it at about midnight. I finished about about 3 am ish I think... I just basically figured out how to make it as I went along. She loved it!

What do you think?

7  Something is a little fishy here in CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES by Nelly on: August 03, 2006 09:29:03 AM

This is my little fish tank complete with puffer fish, clown fish,....er purple fish which I can't remember the name of, and star fish which is sucking onto the back wall of the aqarium. There is also an orange coral and green plant. The purple fish is swimming up to the little bits of fish food floating in the water.  It's all clay except for the water gel and tank itself. I made each little piece of gravel with clay.
Here are some more pictures-

Thanks for looking!

Edited to add this picture. It's a toothpick leaning against it to show size. The length of the tank is 2 in.
Also the water is the gel that is used in vases of silk flowers. You can buy it at craft stores for about $12 for a bottle (this used about a fourth of the bottle).

8  Watermelon Converse in Shoes: Completed Projects by Nelly on: July 26, 2006 03:18:23 PM
I found this pair of old white converse shoes at my Grandparents house and, of course, immediately started thinking of ways I could fluff them up a bit. I went into the kitchen to ask if I could experiment with them and the fam were all eating watermelon (cue the lightbulb). Lucky for me, they were up for grabs so I went to work on them.
This is them before-

and after-

All I used were some permanent makers. Smiley This is my first time doing anything with shoes.  What do you guys think?
