361  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Chain maille candleholder / lamp thingie..... on: July 06, 2004 03:16:43 AM

Thought you might be interested in this.....

Mostly aluminum rings connected around a tuna can at the bottom. The very top has a leather thong to hang it from, helps with the heat after the candle's been lit for a while.

I have to make another one soon, my wife stole this one! Smiley

Like it?

Thanks guys!

You hit it right on the head, Mew. hp3n1 for the cab wrap, and hp3n1 sheet 5 for the choker part.

Actually, I don't cut my stainless. I purchase the rings, 'cause my hands can't take it, either. Sad

For a thumbring, it just depends on how small you want to go without sacrificing ring strength. I currently make finger rings from 1/8" stainless in hp3n1 and they seem to not be too bulky, but you may disagree. The fun part is making it continuous!

Thanks again! I might post a few more things here, if I get time.

Also, if you want portable, and you're not worried about flash, I use fishing tackle boxes, the ones with removable drawer type units?

You can fit all kinda stuff in there, adjust the size of certain units,  and it's all secure.

Had this together for a while now, but since I just joined, I figured it would be OK to post?

I think its quite elegant, all stainless steel; with a snake eye cabochon and faux pearl hanging from it.

Whatcha think?

That's pretty nice.....good tight weave, too!

Most of the ones you see on ebay are big and loose, you can hardly tell what the weave is! Great job.  Grin

Are those 1/8" ID?
